Abstract
The Université de Montréal and the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) are proud to announce that they will be hosting the 1st World Health Summit (WHS) of the M8 Alliance to be held in North America. The world leaders in global health will be attending this prestigious event, including over 800 researchers, doctors, industry leaders, decision-makers, government members and civil society actors from around the world. Based on the theme of “Health and Healthcare Delivery in Pluralistic Societies,” this interdisciplinary event will focus on the question of human diversity in the practice, education, research and public policy pertaining to health. In pluralistic societies that welcome diversity, such as ours, many factors will impact health and the provision of healthcare, including globalization, immigration, social and economic inequalities, lifestyle, and culture. We believe that it is our mission, as scholars, to turn our attention to this important phenomenon and to analyze it in depth.

ID
894161
Dates
18 May 2017 - 20 May 2017
Location
New Delhi, India
Abstract
Modern hospital is a matrix organization, an amalgam of social, architectural and technologicaladvancements. Healthcare industry isgrowing rapidly but the core ingredientssuch ascare, compassion, empathy, trustworthinessand ethical considerations are losing their fabric. We live in a well-informed society, where patients, relatives, and others are inclined to question healthcare providers when medical outcomes are not acceptable. Ethics is considered a standard of behaviour and a concept of right and wrong in anysituation. The primary principles of ethics include beneficence, non-malfeasance, justice and respect for autonomy. There are legal and ethical dilemmasassociated withdelivery of healthcare. It is imperative for healthcareprofessionals to be well conversant with law and ethics - the pillars of healthcare ecosystem. Theevolving technologies pose new challenges every day to the established tenets of medical practice. These challenges often involve social issues and ethical dilemmas with decisions affecting life and its continuity.Recent issues include reproductive rights, fetal health, stem cell research, euthanasia, DNR and confidentiality of records in cyber domain. Healthcare professionals need to be concerned about how law and ethics impact not only their respective professions, but also how these issues affect the consumersand society at large. Spiralling cost of healthcare leads to questions regarding availability, accessibility, affordabilityand equitable distribution of healthcare resources. It is thus the felt need of the hour to introspect and deliberate on these much relevant contemporary legal and ethical issues. Against this backdrop, Research Foundation of Hospital and Healthcare Administration (RFHHA) in collaboration with Department of Hospital Administration, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi is organizing a three-dayConclave on“Legal and Ethical Challenges in Healthcare Ecosystem”from18th to 20th May, 2017atManekshaw Convention Centre,New Delhi. The conclave will open up new vistas for formulating SOPs for respective organizations. It will also address contentious ethical and legal issues related to healthcare and facilitate the stake holders for framing appropriate policies and guidelines. We are sanguine this conclave will be an important melting pot for exchange of ideas and sharing of practical experiences.

Abstract
It is our honor and pleasure to invite you to participate in the 16th MIXiii-BIOMED 2017 Conference and Exhibition, to be held May 23-25, 2017 in Tel-Aviv, Israel. This year, as we mark our 16th anniversary, we are excited to introduce a new format in which we will explore and aim to fuel the innovations and trends that are shaping the future of healthcare systems and life science. Networking is the name of the game. The new exciting format calls for an active participation by the conference’s attendees, which we believe will significantly enhance the value offered and the networking experience.

Aging is the central theme of the conference. We will study and discuss diseases affecting the elderly population such as chronic diseases, cancer, neuro-degenerative diseases, and diabetes. As we look at the future of our healthcare system, we would like to address ways to diagnose and treat elderly patients by utilizing new methods and innovations in precision medicine, genetics, personal diagnosis, treatment and monitoring with the ultimate goal of being preventive, if and when possible. Digital health can play a major role in addressing these fields. In addition issues of cybersecurity are raised in association with the use of these new technologies. And, as we think of aged individuals, we cannot but think of robotics, regenerative and cell therapies. All these and more will be presented and discussed as our healthcare systems have become open to address the issues of aging populations.
