Dates
13 Feb 2017 - 14 Feb 2017
Location
London, United Kingdom
Abstract
Despite challenging market conditions, global capital expenditure (Capex) on FLNG facilities is forecast to increase significantly over the 2016-2022 period. The protracted oil price downturn has impacted the sanctioning of capital intensive liquefaction units over the last 24 months. However, the need to move towards cleaner sources of energy and diversify gas supply has stimulated the floating regasification market - over 14 countries are expected to commission their first floating import unit over the forecast period.

Against this backdrop, SMi’s 5th annual Floating LNG conference will provide attendees with strategic insight on the latest developments within the FLNG market to optimise activities and ensure project sustainability and success. The two-day programme will also equip you with the tools to overcome the logistical, financial, technological and economic challenges associated with FLNG deployment and ensure succinct transition from design to operation.

Marine — Computational Methods in Marine Engineering
ID
773759
Dates
14 May 2017 - 17 May 2017
Location
Nantes, France
Abstract
The objective of  Marine 2017  is to be a meeting place for researchers developing computational methods and scientists and engineers focusing on challenging applications in marine engineering. By  marine engineering  we include applications within the maritime and offshore industry as well as scientific and engineering challenges related to the marine environment.  The conference goal is to make a step forward in the formulation and computational solution of marine engineering problems accounting for all the complex couplings involved in the physical description of the problems. The conference topics will include: Ship hydrodynamics, Structural analysis of marine structures, Offshore structures, Sea-pipe mechanics, Advances in mechanical methods for marine engineering (new finite element, finite difference, finite volume and boundary element methods, particle methods, meshless methods, etc.), Computational environmental mechanics in marine problems, Algorithms for solving multidisciplinary problems in marine engineering, Marine engineering applications. The conference is one of the Thematic Conferences of the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS). It is also supported by other scientific organisations in Europe and worldwide including the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM).
