Romanian Tribology Association and National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA in Bucharest

ROTRIB’24 is the 15th in a series of international scientific events on TRIBOLOGY organised in Romania, initiated in 1978. The general objective of this conference is to contribute and demonstrate fundamentals, applications, and experiences in the field of Tribology. The conference will provide an interdisciplinary forum for discussion, networking and initiating collaborations among specialists, about materials and Tribology and their applications to product design and reliability. Tribology needs to reconfigure its directions of evolution to meet the latest developments in science and technology, and we hope that ROTRIB'24 will be an excellent opportunity to accomplish this.

IFToMM (International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science)

We are delighted to announce the 5th International Tribology Symposium of IFToMM (International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science), ITS-IFToMM 2024, will be held from May 6th to 8th 2024 in Salerno, Italy, jointly with the 9th AIT (Italian Tribology Association) Workshop “Tribology and Industry” (8th May 2024). This will be the 5th ITS-IFToMM following the 1st (Beijing, China, 2008), 2nd (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, 2010), 3rd (Lulea, Sweden, 2013) and 4th (Jeju, Korea, 2017) ITS-IFToMM. The aim of ITS-IFToMM 2024 is to provide the opportunity for scientists and engineers from all over the world to come together and exchange the latest information on a wide range of topics relevant to tribology. The topics will include all the major themes of tribology and other related fields. We expect ITS- IFToMM 2024 to be exciting and fruitful for all the attendees from academia as well as industry.

Automated machine learning (AutoML) aims to reduce the need for experts to obtain effective ML pipelines. It offers off-the-shelf solutions that can be applied without prior knowledge in ML, allowing engineers to dedicate more time to domain-specific tasks. Regrettably, AutoML is underutilized in computational mechanics. There is almost no communication between the two communities, and engineers spend unnecessary effort selecting and configuring ML algorithms. In light of this, the current Dagstuhl Seminar is dedicated to fostering cross-pollination between the fields of AutoML and Computational Mechanics. It aims to convene a curated selection of international experts, each hailing from diverse backgrounds and various application domains, encompassing computer science, machine learning, engineering, mathematics, operations research, and industrial applications.

The conference is fully supported by the IEEE Industry Applications Society.

To reach concurrently this level of excellence, emergent optimization methodologies require more and more robust and efficient associated software for a daily use in industrial collaborative design environments. This course intends to provide the basic concepts and tools behind this technology, both in single discipline (single point or multi point design) and multidisciplinary (fluid-structure interaction, fluid-acoustics, conjugate heat transfer, …) context. State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmission for Advanced Equipment in China

In recent years, to meet the escalating demands of modern industry and society, the mechanical transmission technology has been making continual progress and getting new achievements in design theories, advanced materials, processing and evaluation techniques. Currently, new applications such as large megawatt wind turbines, new energy vehicles, all electrical equipment, etc., and increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements poses significant challenges to mechanical transmission. Meanwhile, the emergence of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital twins bring new revolution to the mechanical transmission. Therefore, State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmission for Advanced Equipment in China is organizing the International Conference on Mechanical Transmission (ICMT 2025), which offers a shared platform for scientists, manufacturers and users, to discuss and present trends and innovations in mechanical transmission.
