Abstract
The 23rd Annual Review Meeting: Hot Topics in Organic Chemistry – from the Bench to Industry, organised by the SCI Young Chemists’ Panel, will address key areas of cutting-edge contemporary synthetic organic chemistry. An exciting line-up of leading early career academics will deliver a series of review lectures covering a range of topics: C-H activation, organocatalysis, natural product synthesis, frustrated Lewis pair(s) and new fragments in drug discovery. The meeting will deliver a comprehensive overview of the material, highlighting new methods and reviewing the latest applications and concepts in these areas. Particular attention will be given to demystifying those techniques that would be less familiar to an organic chemistry audience, with a focus on (potential) industrial application. The review lectures will be supported by the keynote speaker, Prof Jonathan Clayden from the University of Bristol.

Dates
21 Jun 2017 - 23 Jun 2017
Location
Rochester, United States
Abstract
Whether you are a chemist, chemical engineer, QA or safety specialist, your aims when scaling up your process are often the same: Designing and developing safe processes; Achieving greater process efficiency, yield and throughput; Eliminating unsafe and non-green processes and materials; Decreasing the costs and number of steps involved. Since the first conference in 1994, The Scale-Up of Chemical Processes Conference has become the major international forum for the discussion of all these aspects of scale-up and more, in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical and allied fields. Key speakers will present case studies and examples of some of the pitfalls and problems they encountered and how they overcame them. With unparalleled networking opportunities, this broad-based conference is the best place to learn about and discuss the latest novel ideas and techniques with the key people in the industry.

The conference themes will spread the breadth of macrocyclic and supramolecular chemistry. Prospective themes may include the following, these themes will be confirmed and updated shortly: - Molecular Machines and Mechanical Effects - Dynamic Covalent and Supramolecular Polymers - Supramolecular Catalysis - Complex Forms and Functions - Sensing and Recognition - Biosupramolecular chemistry - Capsules and Confinement - Soft Supramolecular Materials - Supramolecules That Use Light - Simulations and Predictions Abstract submission will open in due course in order to allow the application for a contributed talking slot at the conference. The conference will also offer the possibility for to students and researchers at their early-stage career to present their scientific work in form of poster presentations. There will be a conference dinner, which we hope to be at one of the Cambridge Colleges and there will be a free afternoon for delegates to enjoy the attractions and sights of Cambridge. ISMSC, the International Symposium on Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry, in turn came from a fusion of the International Symposium on Macrocyclic Chemistry (ISMC) and the International Symposium on Supramolecular Chemistry (ISSC). These meetings combined in 2006 and since then have been held on an annual basis in a different nation each time.

Abstract
The 28th International Meeting on Organic Geochemistry (IMOG 2017) will be held in Florence (Italy), during September 17-22, 2017. For the first time the conference will be organized by the European Association of Organic Geochemists in cooperation with the House of Geoscience (HOG). IMOG 2017, the official biennial conference of the European Association of Organic Geochemists (EAOG) is the largest meeting on Organic Geochemistry. The EAOG (founded in 1983) has over 450 members from all around the world and seeks to promote organic geochemistry in its broadest sense. The guiding principle of the IMOG meetings is to encourage presentation, communication and discussion of research results carried out in academia and industry in the fields of Organic Geochemistry with topics ranging from Biogeochemistry to Petroleum Geochemistry. A scientific programme will be designed to fulfil this goal, with an outstanding collection of oral and poster presentations to cover the diverse aspects of organic geochemistry research, its application and integration into studies highly relevant for the advance of the science and industrial applications.

Abstract
The efficient conversion of a chemical process into a process for manufacture on tonnage scale has always been of importance in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. However, in the current economic and regulatory climate, it has become increasingly vital and challenging to do so efficiently. At Organic Process Research & Development Conference, you will hear detailed presentations and case studies from top international chemists. Our hand-picked programme of speakers has been put together specifically for an industrial audience. They will discuss the latest issues relating to synthetic route design, development and optimisation in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical and allied fields. Unlike other conferences, practically all our speakers are experts from industry, which means the ideas and information you take home will be directly applicable to your own work.

01 Jul 2018 - 05 Jul 2018
Location
Carins, Australia
Abstract
The World Polymer Congress (MACRO 18) will be held in Australia’s far north Queensland from 1 July to 5 July 2018. Co-convenors, Professor Martina Stenzel (University of New South Wales); and Professor Sebastien Perrier, Monash-Warwick Chair in Polymer Chemistry, The University of Warwick, Monash University.

Confirmed plenary speakers include:

Professor Paula Hammond, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Over the years, the MACRO conference has developed a strong reputation for bringing together the latest polymer research from top international polymer scientists. In 2018, we will again welcome a number of leading Plenary and Keynote Speakers from around the world and also a very large number of contributors to what promises to be another exciting forum. We would like to extend a particular welcome to early career researchers and in particular students and postdocs, who are key to the future development of our discipline.

The program covers all areas of polymer science and engineering, including synthesis, characterisation, processing, modeling and materials. A large number of sessions will also cover topics at the interface between polymer science and other disciplines that address a range of important issues faced by our modern society, for instance in medicine, energy and the environment. Such a varied programme shows how multidisciplinary polymer science has become and how collaborations across fields are the best approach to tackle today’s challenges.

The reputation of MACRO events goes further than great science; they are also famous for their warm and convivial atmosphere. In 2018, we will have a busy social schedule, starting with a welcome reception and extending to a number of special events throughout the conference that will highlight Australian heritage and the region of Cairns, including of course the Great Barrier Reef, to the conference banquet.
