Dates
27 Jul 2017 - 30 Jul 2017
Location
Moscow, Russia
Abstract
Dear colleague, we are pleased to invite you to the 8th International Moscow Conference on Computational Molecular Biology (MCCMB'17), which will take place on July 27-30, 2017 in Moscow, Russia. Starting mid-January 2017, we welcome submissions of two-page abstracts from researchers working, in particular, in the following areas: (1) sequence analysis, (2) structure of biopolymers, (3) molecular evolution, (4) omics and systems biology, (5) next generation sequencing, (6) bioalgorithms. Basing on the conference history, we expect about 40 talks, 100 posters, and, possibly, some computer demonstrations and round tables. Looking forward to see you in Moscow next summer, MCCMB'17 organizing committee

Belyaev Conference
ID
877827
Dates
07 Aug 2017 - 10 Aug 2017
Location
Novosibirsk, Russia
Abstract
July 17, 2017 is the date that marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Full Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences Dmitri K. Belyaev (1917–1985), an outstanding scientist, evolutionist and geneticist. In view of this memorable date, the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the co-organizers will be holding Belyaev Conference. Belyaev authored an all-new chapter in the theory of morphogenetic processes that explores interactions between two main factors in evolution: variability and selection. In an attempt to find the answers, he launched a large-scale, still ongoing experiment aimed at reproducing the earliest stage of the animal domestication process, with the silver fox as the test subject. The key was selection for human-friendly responses in the fox. As a result, a unique, world-famous tame fox population was created.
