This workshop is organized by SPICE as part of the Gutenberg International Conference Center (GICC) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU).

The scientific and technological exploration of three-dimensional magnetic nanostructures is an emerging research field with exciting novel physical phenomena, originating from the increased complexity in spin textures, topology, and frustration in three dimensions. Tailored three-dimensional nanomagnetic structures, including in artificial spin ice systems or magnonics will enable novel applications in magnetic sensor and information processing technologies with improved energy efficiency, processing speed, functionalities, and miniaturization of future spintronic devices.

The International Symposium on Dielectric Materials and Applications (ISyDMA) is a global forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, results, experiences, and concerns in the several perspectives of these materials and is also an opportunity to develop new ideas and collaborations and to be aware of the latest search trends in the dielectrics, nanodielectrics and advanced materials fields and their numerous applications. This seminar discusses recent developments and new trends in nonequilibrium dynamics of micro- and nanoparticles. Major topics are dynamics of active particles in complex environments, unjamming of arrested particle motions in strongly disordered materials, dynamics out of liquids, effects of hydrodynamic interactions, emergent phenomena in transport across energy landscapes, driven motion in narrow pores, single-particle tracking and trapping, memory effects, and time-delayed feedback control.

This Binational WE-Heraeus-Seminar will bring together distinguished researchers, mainly from Germany and Taiwan, to explore cutting-edge topics in low-dimensional materials, correlated systems, and quantum technologies, spanning both theory and experiment. The multifaceted electronic, optical, topological, and mechanical properties of low-dimensional quantum materials and atomic lattices and their exceptional variability and tunability make them promising candidates for new and improved (quantum) technologies.

This seminar discusses advances in the fabrication and optoelectronic properties of quantum-confined solid-state materials from the two viewpoints of bottom-up (e.g. wet-chemistry or molecular beam epitaxy) vs. top-down methods. The overarching hypothesis is that these communities, which currently act largely separately due to the different chemical approaches, face many identical physical challenges in the application of these nanomaterials for optoelectronics, such that an interdisciplinary exchange holds for a high degree of synergy.
