CBTS-2021

Aims and Scope

TOMTE - The Competence Centre in Tourism Management and Tourism Economics at the Free University at Bozen-Bolzano in Italy, Sunway University of Malaysia, Edith Cowan University in Australia, and ZPID - Leibniz Institute for Psychology in Germany proudly announce the 14th annual Consumer Behavior in Tourism Symposium (CBTS 2021), taking place December 13th to 15th, under the theme "Imagining Tourism Futures Beyond Covid 19". 

This special event will provide an opportunity for tourism researchers and practitioners from all over the world to exchange scientific ideas and results and discuss new and emerging directions in research and practice in the field. CBTS 2021 is planned as a virtual conference. 

The scientific committee welcomes theoretical, empirical and/or applied research contributions in the form of structured abstracts on the following topics: 
 

  • From undertourism back to overtourism? Consumer behavior after pandemic times
  • Crisis management, risk management, safety, and security in tourism
  • Re-envisioning tourism marketing
  • Destination management: balancing innovation, governance and markets
  • Current Issues in decision making and travel behavior
  • From red lists to green lists - policies, governance, and implications 
  • Redesigning tourism services - smile or smart?
 

Abstract on the following themes will also be considered:

  • Emerging theoretical, methodological and practical issues in tourism research
  • Quality of Life: empirics, measurement and methodology
  • Understanding Consumer behavior better - Big data and analytics
  • Future tourism and emerging issues in consumer behavior research
