In terms of the Protection of Personal Information (often called the POPI Act or POPIA) (for more information on the POPI Act please visit www.popia.co.za) we are committed to protecting the privacy of all personal data you provide us for this event registration. The following describes what we are doing with your data and how long we store it so you are fully informed prior to you submitting your personal information for the Conference registration.

We ask for your personal data to communicate and facilitate your participation in the Conference.
How long will we store your personal data?
Your personal information/data will be viewed, and processed by SACAIR and the SACAIR Conference Secretariat, the Conference Organising and /or the Program Committees but will not be shared or accessed by any third parties.
This information may also be used to inform you of any upcoming SACAIR events or industry-related announcements.
Should you at any time wish to unsubscribe from any SACAIR communications, you can email us and you will be removed from all databases and will not receive any future communications from SACAIR.

Terms and Conditions
These Terms & Conditions are valid for every person registering and being registered as a participant to any event hosted by SACAIR (Conferences, seminars or courses) of SACAIR (hereinafter referred to as “the Conference") and you will need to acknowledge and accept the Terms & Conditions contained herein, prior to completing registration.
Conference registration
Conference registration can only be submitted online through the Conference registration portal. Participation in the Conference will be confirmed upon receipt of payment in full. The participant registration fee includes full access to the Conference.
Registration/Invoice Creation/Receipt:
Upon registration you will be required to create your own invoice. Once created, you will receive a copy of your invoice by email. The attendance to the conference is only confirmed upon receipt of full payment.
Methods of payment
This is a pre-paid Conference. Only pre-paid participants will gain access to the conference.
Payments should be made in advance of the Conference in South African Rands (ZAR) only, using Electronic Funds Transfer or by Credit Card. All bank fees and transfer costs must be prepaid by the transmitter. Clearly indicate the invoice number and the registrant’s name as a reference on all bank transfers.
Registration name change
Any name change/replacement can be made to an existing registration. A new online registration for the substitute registrant/participant is NOT required. Name changes will be accepted by email only and should indicate the old and new names and any information related to category of registration.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be emailed to rleroux@mongoose.co.za. Cancellations will only be valid if recipients are in possession of an acknowledgment of receipt from the organising committee. Please resend your cancellation if an acknowledgment of receipt has not been received within 48 hours.
The refund of the registration fees will be as follows:
Cancellation before 6 November 2023 – 50% refund (less 10% handling fee).
No refunds after 6 November 2023.
Substitutions can only be made by informing the conference accounts department before the start of the conference.
Please note all refunds will be paid in the week following the conference.

Cancellation of the Conference
In the event that the Conference cannot be held or is postponed due to events beyond the control of the Conference host and the Conference organisers (incl. force majeure) or due to events which are not attributable to wrongful intent or gross negligence of the Conference host and the Conference organisers, neither the Conference host nor the Conference organisers can be held liable by delegates for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, including financial losses, etc. Under these circumstances, the Conference host reserves the right to either retain the entire registration fee with the permission of the registrant and to use it for a future Conference, or to reimburse the delegate after deducting costs already incurred for the organisation of the Conference and which could not be recovered from third parties.
Modification of the programme
The Conference host and the Conference organisers reserve the right to modify the event program if necessary at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.
Liability
The Conference host and the Conference organisers shall be held liable in the framework of a duty of care as a respectable business according to statutory provisions. The liability of the Conference host and Conference organisers – for whatever legal reason - shall be limited to intent and/or gross negligence. The liability of commissioned service providers shall remain unaffected by this. The registrant will take part in the Conference at his/her own discretion and risk. Oral agreements will not be binding unless confirmed in writing by the Conference host or the Conference organiser.
Fulfilment and jurisdiction
These terms & conditions for registrants and the rights of the Parties hereunder will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to choice of law rules. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of, or in relation to, these terms and conditions will be resolved by arbitration.
Conference principles and values
The Conference encourages debate and dialogue as key elements of participation among all Conference participants, including delegates, sponsors, speakers and exhibitors.
All participants are expected to adhere to the following principles and values:
• Be respectful and considerate.
• Be mindful of words chosen and how they may affect others.
• Be patient.
• Speak freely, and when in disagreement, try to understand the perspectives of others. This list is not exhaustive but describes key principles to be taken in the spirit intended. It is a guide for mutually respectful and open participation in the Conference.
The Conference organisers oppose:
• Disruption of interactive spaces that results in the inability for dialogue and debate to take place.
• Any actions perceived to contain threat of force or verbal harassment.
• Cyberbullying or trolling.
These principles and values apply to all parts of the Conference including Conference presentation sessions, networking sessions, exhibition and online events. The principles guide all communication and conduct in these spaces, including emails, chats, slides, videos, signs or any images displayed in these spaces and interactions. In addition, egregious violations of these principles outside these spaces may, in rare cases, affect a person’s ability to participate within them.
Terms of use
Registered participants agree that they will not interfere with the proper working of the Conference, nor use the Conference platform:
• For any illegal purpose and cybercrime.
• Be in conflict with any applicable law, cybersecurity ordinance, rule or regulation of any governmental authority.
• In conflict with any applicable data security and protection laws.
Participants further agree to adhere to the principles and values of the Conference as outlined above. In practice, this means that as a registered Conference participant:
• You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people. We also prohibit the glorification of violence.
• You may not promote violence against, threaten or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, physical or intellectual disability, profession or disease.
• You may not publish or post other people's private information (such as identifying features, such as home phone number and address) without their express authorization and permission.
• You may not threaten or promote terrorism or violent extremism.
• You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone or incite other people to do so. This includes expressing a wish or hope that someone experiences physical and/or mental harm.
• You may not impersonate any other person or entity or submit any false, defamatory, offensive, harassing material or any material that violates another party’s rights of privacy and publicity.
• You may not publish offensive, untrue or illegal material.
• You may not submit unsolicited bulk or commercial messages (“spam”) to users. Any unsolicited message must also not direct the recipient to any third-party site or other resources.
• You may not groom another individual and/or offer or solicit inappropriate behaviour through the Conference platform.
Disclaimer
All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that the Conference takes place on the advertised date and time. In the event that the Conference does not take place on the advertised date and time, an alternative date and time will be scheduled. The Conference host reserves the right to substitute speakers where events beyond its reasonable control prevent speakers from appearing. You accept that there will be no right to any refund or cancellation in these circumstances.
All the online components of the conference may be subject to limitations, delays and other problems inherent to the use of the Internet, of third parties’ online platforms and of electronic communications. The Conference host shall not be responsible for any delays, delivery failures, interruptions, unavailability, viruses, hacker intrusions or any damage resulting from such issues.
