The impetus for the inclusion of the topic of structured catalysts and reactors as a section of chemical engineering and the subsequent holding of conferences in this area were the seminars "Monolith honeycomb supports and catalysts", which were successfully held in St. Petersburg in 1995, and Novosibirsk in 1997. This was followed by a series of international conferences ICOSCAR (International Conference on Structured Catalysts and Reactors) in the Netherlands, Italy, China, Spain, Germany. Interest in structured catalysts is steadily growing due to the fact that the potential advantages of this type of catalyst have long been proven. At the conference, much attention will be paid to the issues of modeling and optimization of the structure of reactors, as well as the features of their operation. Their unique advantages in terms of heat and mass transfer over conventional reactors are unmatched for process intensification. The event will bring together a wide range of experts who will acquaint the audience with the latest scientific data on the development of structured catalysts and reactors and their application in industry, provide detailed information on all aspects of the synthesis and application of structured catalysts, such as materials, mass transfer, selectivity, activity and stability, methods preparation, anticipation of catalytic properties and characteristics. This comprehensive overview of recent advances will outline development paths as a viable solution to process intensification.
