This workshop focuses on the study of co-localization and strong coupling between elementary wave excitations in condensed matter systems, including spins, magnons, phonons, and photons. By exploring the shared dynamics of these hybrid particles, the conference aims to advance our understanding of their interactions and their potential applications in next-generation information technologies. Participants will discuss recent breakthroughs, emerging challenges, and future directions in the field, with a particular emphasis on the integration of these phenomena into scalable devices. The workshop will serve as a platform for fostering collaboration and innovation at the intersection of condensed matter physics and quantum information technology.

Controlling transport of fluids and charged particles in nanoscale confinement is a key challenge in many areas of science and engineering. In extreme confinement, the conventional macroscopic description of transport breaks down and fundamentally new approaches connecting atomistic description with experimental observations are required. The proposed summer school is timely and will provide valuable training for young nano scientists.

“Frontiers of Condensed Matter” is a series of doctoral training sessions organized since 2010 by a number of European partners. It aims at offering final year Master students and junior PhD-students (1st/2nd year) a high-level training program in the general area of condensed matter physics. The program is not focused on a specific subfield. Instead it tries to give a broad introduction to important concepts in condensed matter physics. Topics include, e.g., quantum transport, quantum materials, superconductivity, topological phases, cQED, open quantum systems, and quantum device physics.

La conférence internationale MATÉRIAUX 2026, qui se tiendra du 16 au 20 novembre 2026 sur le site d’Alpexpo à Grenoble, est organisée sous l’égide de la Fédération Française des Matériaux (FFM) qui regroupe 26 associations scientifiques et techniques concernées par les matériaux. Elle s’inscrit dans la série des conférences MATÉRIAUX qui se tiennent tous les quatre ans depuis 2002 et qui se sont imposées comme l’événement francophone incontournable pour l’ensemble des acteurs académiques et industriels du monde des matériaux.
