SynCell conferences aim to support the scientific community working on designing synthetic cells and organelles from the ground up. The next edition, SynCell2026, will be held in London from 22 to 24 April 2026. During three days, researchers from around the world will have the opportunity to meet and discuss the latest advances in bottom-up synthetic biology.

Join us in Edinburgh, the historic capital of Scotland and centre of the Scottish Enlightenment, for the 22nd edition of the European Conference on Thermoelectrics from Monday 14 to Friday 18 September 2026. This marks the first time the Conference has been held in the UK since 2006 in Cardiff, and we are delighted to welcome the community once again. ECT2026 will be a forum for presenting the latest scientific ideas and discoveries in our field, from basic theory and concepts to novel devices and practical applications of thermoelectric materials.

Innovations in Applied Mechanics brings together two previous, highly successful conferences MPSVA – Modern Practice in Stress and Vibration Analysis and DAMAS – International Conference on Damage Assessment in Structures to present research findings in stress analysis, vibration dynamics and structural damage assessment with the intention of providing directed focus on the state-of-the-art in theoretical and experimental methodology. The conference is organised by the Applied Mechanics Group of the Institute of Physics. The aim of the conference is to bring together physicists, mathematicians, materials scientists and engineers from academia and industry, and to provide a platform for the presentation of creative and novel research findings facilitating an interchange of ideas and providing guidance for future research direction. The scope of the Conference is broad and covers the full range of fundamental, experimental and applied research in Stress, vibration and damage analysis.
