Supported by the Commission of Magnetic Structures and Commission of Neutron Scattering of International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) and Chinese Crystallographic Society

This workshop aims to fostering the next generation of young scientists working on magnetic structure determination, and promoting the field of magnetic structure investigations, particularly in the Asiatic and Oceanic region. The workshop includes many lectures on FullProf, JANA, GSAS, and Bilbao Crystallography Server, and pertinent exercises based on these software, covering both methodologies of magnetic structure determination: the irreducible representation analysis and magnetic space group analysis. The official language of the workshop will be English. A series of senior scientists are invited as lecturers, including the developers of the aforementioned software.

LEAPS – the League of European Accelerator-based Photon Sources

Hosted biennially, the International Conference on Research Infrastructures is the major professional forum for the global research infrastructure community. ICRI 2024 will bring together policymakers, research institution leaders, facility operators, users and researchers, to discuss pressing topics of interest, trends and challenges facing research infrastructures around the world. ICRI 2024 will be hosted in the beautiful city of Brisbane (Meanjin in Aboriginal language), the capital of the state of Queensland in Australia, traditionally owned by the Turrbal and Jagera People. With a population of 2.52 million, Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city and is situated in the southeastern coastal region of Queensland.

The symposium will highlight twenty-five years of incredible science enabled by the Chandra X-ray Observatory, celebrating the discoveries made by Chandra, the unique capabilities of the mission, and the potential discoveries still remaining. Topics and themes will emphasize high resolution imaging and spectroscopy, synergies with other observatories, and the legacy of the Chandra archive, covering theoretical and observational perspectives. With the series of annual user meetings we bring together our user community to intensify scientific exchange and stimulating new collaborations. The meetings will provide an overview of the many exciting and inspiring research results obtained at our facility in the past year. Plenary talks, discussions, a public lecture and a poster session will provide vast possibilities of information and discussion. The bestowals of the 'Prizes for Young Scientists' donated by the Freundeskreis Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin e.V. (FHZB) are traditional highlights of the user meetings.

To continue to spread the interest in polarized-neutron diffraction amongst the physics, chemistry, material science and biology scientific communities, a three-day International Workshop on Single-Crystal Diffraction with Polarized Neutrons will be held at the ILL in Grenoble on 11th-13th December 2024. The workshop will focus on the application of half-polarized and polarization-analysis neutron methods to fundamental research and to functional research in areas with a strong societal impact, probing length scales from the atomic to mesoscopic in crystalline solids with a focus on multiferroic, topological, superconducting and other smart materials. The workshop aims to complement the broader scope offered by the biennial PNCMI, and will be run as a satellite to the ILL/ESS User Meeting, also in Grenoble.

iCT 2025 will include state-of-the-art industry talks and an attractive scientific program comprising plenary talks as well as oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed papers. The iCT 2025 edition’s program will feature keynote talks presented by world-renowned imaging scientists in computed tomography. We look forward to seeing the creativity and innovation that participants will bring to this exciting event.

European Synchrotron Radiation Facility

Whether you're a seasoned ESRF user or a newcomer, the tutorials of the first day are designed to enhance your understanding and utilisation of the facility's cutting-edge tools and techniques. The plenary session on the second day of the meeting will feature thought leaders and pioneers in synchrotron radiation science, sharing their latest discoveries and future directions. These talks will not only inspire but also provide a platform for discussing the significant impact of synchrotron research on important scientific fields. And finally, the User Dedicated Microsymposia (UDM), on the third day, are tailored to specific research areas, offering a dive into specialised topics and an opportunity for users to present their own results in these areas. These sessions facilitate networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among researchers with shared interests and challenges.

CIRM – Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques

The properties of heterogenous materials are governed by the arrangement of their nanoscale constituents. This is especially true for hierarchically organized biomaterials such as bone, tendon, wood but also for technical materials such as steel, concrete or ceramics. In particular, the understanding of orientations in 3D is a key factor to predict the physical properties of current materials, model their properties more faithfully and to propose ways to improve future materials for fields such as medicine, energy storage, composite structures or low carbon construction materials. The aim of this workshop is to assemble the communities of Material Scientists, Physicists and Mathematicians working on methods to determine orientation distributions on the nano- and crystal scale in 2D and 3D, and to stimulate a discussion on existing techniques, their computational limitations and ways to improve them, with a particular focus on their mathematical underpinnings.

The biannual TXRF conference is a forum for experts and users of TXRF and related techniques. The scope is to jointly present and discuss recent advances, latest research, and new perspectives in different fields of TXRF from the fundamentals to the applications. As previous editions, the TXRF 2025 will bring together scientists, end-users, and manufacturers, being an excellent platform for networking and exchange.
