Institute of Physics (IOP)

The Anglo-French Physical Acoustics Conference (AFPAC) is an in-person event, and organised by the IOP Physical Acoustics Group, Le Groupe d’Acoustique Physique and the Sous-marine et UltraSonore (GAPSUS) of the Société Française d’Acoustique (SFA). AFPAC provides a forum to explore and share cutting-edge research in physical acoustics and ultrasonics. With its deliberately broad scope, the conference fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation across diverse applications. Conference topics include (but are not limited to): theoretical developments (all methods); experimental measurements; transduction; linear or nonlinear elastic or acoustic (bulk, surface, guided) wave radiation, propagation, scattering and reception; application to material characterisation, biomedical ultrasound, imaging (non-destructive testing, medical, underwater, seismology), SAW in electronic devices. This conference would be of particular interest to IOP special interest groups: Biological Physics Group, Materials and Characterisation Group, Mathematical and Theoretical Physics Group, Medical Physics Group, Optical Group, Physical Acoustics Group, Women in Physics Group, but all are welcome.

The UK Acoustics Network

This symposium aims to explore the latest advances in key areas of acoustics, sensors, acoustofluidics, ultrasonics, vibration, noise. It also aims to discuss the grand noise challenges in the UK, with a focus on potential opportunities and solutions facilitated by micro-acoustic sensors/actuators and other innovative technologies. The applications will be focused on engineering, healthcare, and sustainability, with participants and audience from academics, researchers, students, industry and other stakeholders. Sessions will include keynote talks, technical presentations and demonstrations, and poster sessions, with great opportunities for networking and collaboration, as well as practical experience.

Organized by the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, the 32nd AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference (Aeroacoustics 2026) is the premier international forum dedicated to aeroacoustics research and innovation. The AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference 2026 continues to be the leading international platform for the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge in the field of aeroacoustics. It provides researchers and engineers from academia, industry, and government a unique opportunity to share recent findings and explore future research directions. Contributions are invited on all aspects of noise generation, propagation, and control for aerospace vehicles, novel airborne systems as well as other industrial applications such as wind energy.

The many advances in the field of underwater acoustics since then make it appropriate to hold another international conference to discuss the latest research and applications.

The 17th International Conference on Mathematical and Numerical Aspects of Wave Propagation at Concordia University in Montreal Canada, June 22-26 2026 is the latest in the series of very successful WAVES conferences. The conference will cover a wide range of mathematical and numerical techniques applied across disciplines. It will bring together mathematicians and physicists of all backgrounds - established researchers, postdocs and students.
