YEF-ÂECE — 2017 International Young Engineers Forum
Costa da Caparica, Portugal
The International Young Engineers Forum looks for the latest developments and innovative applications in electrical and computer engineering, dealing with systems’ design and utilization, looking forward to efficient devices and systems with appropriate control algorithms to meet the needs of business and industry in a global economy. This event will be a unique opportunity for young engineers to connect with each other enabling experience’s sharing and to become internationally active. Young engineers / graduating MSc students are encouraged to submit manuscripts with their latest innovative developments in Electrical and Computer Engineering, based on their MSc theses or early career projects. Each submitted paper shall be jointly co-authored by a young engineer and his/her supervisor or mentor. The YEF-ECE Program Committee will review all submitted full papers and will select the best for presentation based on their innovative and original contribution to engineering solutions.
Mineral Fibres: Crystal Chemistry, Chemical-Physical Properties, Biological Interaction and Toxicity
19 Jun 2017 - 23 Jun 2017
The school will cover multidisciplinary aspects related to the study of natural fibres aimed at students with a background in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Material Science, Medicine, Physics who strive for working in the field of mineral fibres and asbestos, giving both a strong background in this specific area of environmental protection and a critical open vision on the global asbestos issue . Distinguished lectures who are undiscussed leaders in their research fields have accepted to teach in our school and to share their outstanding scientific and life experience with the students and colleagues
Sample Prep Summer Course — Sample Preparation Summer Course, 3-6 July 2017, Chania, Crete, Greece
03 Jul 2017 - 06 Jul 2017
This 4-day theoretical/practical event is presented by top experts and covers all aspects of traditional and modern sample preparation methods with a special focus on solid and liquid phase (microextraction). Course lectures will be followed by hands-on experiments and a complete method development strategy will be illustrated by real-life examples. At every stage, the sample type and characteristics will be taken into consideration next to the green and cost-related aspects of sample preparation methods. Advanced experiments can also be arranged for more experienced users.

Summer School 2017 Electronic Structure and Spectroscopy of Transition Metal Complexes
03 Sep 2017 - 09 Sep 2017
Modern research in transition metal chemistry relies extensively on the use of high-level electronic structure theory and advanced spectroscopic methods. The ability to leverage the combination of molecular theory and spectroscopy is essential for driving cutting-edge research in all fields of transition metal science, ranging from inorganic chemistry to biochemistry and from catalysis to energy research. The goal of this summer school is to provide young scientists with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills to incorporate this powerful combination in their own research.
