The International Conference on Scour and Erosion (ICSE) was established in 2002, and has been run by the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) Technical Committee on Scour and Erosion TC213 (Chair: Shinji Sassa). The first conference was held in College Station Texas, USA (2002), followed by Singapore (2004), Amsterdam, Netherlands (2006), Tokyo, Japan (2008), San Francisco, USA (2010), Paris, France (2012), Perth, Australia (2014), Oxford, UK (2016), Taipei China Taiwan (2018), Virtual, USA (2021) and Copenhagen, Denmark (2023). The forthcoming conference will be held in Chongqing, China, in November 2025. The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers, engineers and managers to share their latest findings on Scour and Erosion. This conference is an excellent platform for presenting your researches, ideas, technology advancements and engineering achievements.

This international event is being organized by Pakistan Geotechnical Engineering Society (PGES) in collaboration with Asian Region Technical Committee 3 (ARTC 3) of ISSMGE, being operated by Japanese Geotechnical Society (JGS).

It will be a two day event on December 4 and 5, December 2025 followed by a site seeing tour on December 6, 2025. It is estimated that up to 400 participants will attend the conference. There will be six sessions in the conference. A host of geotechnical celebrities from around the world will attend and present papers, addresses.

Philippine Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineers (PSSMGE) and the Southeast Asian Geotechnical Society under the auspices of the Association of Geotechnical Societies in Southeast Asia (AGSSEA)

The International Symposium on Equatorial Aeronomy (ISEA) is held once in every three to four years. Researchers from the fields of atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetosphere science come together in ISEA to share new results, discuss the current state-of-the-art, and identify promising topics for future research. The 17th International Symposium on Equatorial Aeronomy will be held in Liberia, Costa Rica from February 9 to 13, 2026.

Lebanese Geotechnical Engineering Society (LGES)

The 10th African Young Geotechnical Engineers (10th AYGEC) will be held in Lagos, Nigeria at the University of Lagos from 26th to 29th April, 2026. The event will give opportunity to Young Member Presidential Group (YMPG) and Young Geotechnical Engineers from Africa and other ISSMGE Regions to meet, interact, share experiences, and present their work to their fellow Geotechnical Engineers. The main theme of the conference is " Innovations and best Practices in Geotechnical Engineering for African Development".

New Zealand Geotechnical Society

Landslides are one of New Zealand’s most significant natural hazards. Since 1760 there have been at least 1,500 deaths from landslides in New Zealand. More fatalities have occurred from landslides than from earthquakes, volcanic activity and tsunami combined over the last 160 years. Queenstown is particularly vulnerable, making it an ideal venue for a conference about landslides. More than 50% of the land around the town is mapped as known landslides, with the underlying quartzofeldspathic schist very susceptible to deep seated failures. Our theme brings together the full lifecycle of landslide risk management. It encompasses the need to educate the next generation of landslide risk managers, the need to robustly understand landslide risk, and the need to communicate that risk to the public and decision-makers so that real change is implemented. We believe that bringing together JTC1 and JTC3 to work together on landslide risk assessment, education, communication and outreach is a great opportunity to create real change. The workshop will give you the opportunity to hear about and provide your expertise to inform important research and applied projects underway in New Zealand.

OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), in collaboration with the European project EASI-SMR

The Seismic Engineering Subgroup of the NEA Working Group on Integrity and Ageing of Components and Structures (WGIAGE) will organise the Workshop to share the current state of practice in Seismic Input Motion Development (SIMD), raise awareness of the need for power spectral density (PSD) checks in the varying SIMD practices, discuss perspectives and recommendations on integrating Response Spectra(RS)-matching with PSD checks, and explore future activities to complement RS with PSD or other best practices in all aspects of seismic engineering. Through a series of presentations and panel discussions, participants will gain valuable insights into the technical rationale on PSD checks and important intensity measures, and how they affect various types of seismic analyses and seismic risk assessments. The workshop will promote international uniformity and efficiency, particularly in supporting advanced reactor designs for which licenses may be pursued in multiple countries. Many of these designs involve innovative systems such as seismic isolators, graphite fuel pebbles, and water pools and other fluid systems that behave in the nonlinear regime during strong earthquakes.

The Astrobiology Science Conference (AbSciCon) brings the astrobiology community together every two years to share research, collaborate, and plan for the future. AbSciCon is a community-organized conference that provides a forum for reporting on new discoveries, sharing data and insights, advancing collaborative efforts and initiating new ones, planning new projects, and educating the next generation of astrobiologists.

As global land development expands into coastal regions, offshore reclamation areas, and wetlands, the geotechnical challenges posed by soft soils are becoming more critical. These soils, including highly sensitive clays, marine silty clays, organic soils, peats, loose sands, and dredged soils, are known for their high compressibility, water content, and complex mechanical properties, making construction projects in such areas problematic. To address these challenges, soft soil engineering is evolving with innovative technologies and approaches. This conference, organised under the auspices of the ISSMGE Technical Committee 214 on "Foundation Engineering for Difficult Soft Soil Conditions", will showcase the latest developments in testing, modelling, monitoring and construction and improvement techniques for soft soils. It will provide a platform for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to exchange expertise and discuss how these innovations can be applied to address modern construction challenges in soft soil environments.

The TC301 International Symposium is a premium quadrennial event held under the auspices of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSGME) with the scientific supervision of the Technical Committee on the Preservation of Historic Sites (TC301).

Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS)

Most volcanic hazards --- from lava and pyroclastic flows to ash and gas clouds --- are fundamentally multiphase fluid flows. Predicting these fluid flows is of considerable importance in order to inform quantitative hazard assessment, including, for example, potential evacuation and exclusion zones during eruptions. Although recent advances in remote sensing offer some remarkable new insights into the dynamics, these hazardous fluid flows can be difficult to measure directly. Predictive mathematical models therefore play a vital role in allowing forecasters make robust operational decisions. This is the theme of our proposed workshop: the fluid mechanics of volcanic hazards.
