This will be a small, focussed workshop bringing together leading and up-and-coming international and Australian researchers in quantum information theory. The aim is to present new, exciting results with lots of time for scientific discussion. The program will consist of a limited number of invited talks along with time set aside for conversation. PhD students and postdocs are very welcome and encouraged to participate.

This event will bring together experts in Quantum Computing and Quantum Information, with a strong focus on practical challenges at the intersection of both fields.

Recent years have seen the emergence of a number of research groups that aim to advance quantum computing and to develop a skilled quantum software workforce. A particular challenge that must be overcome for safe quantum computing at scale is the creation of robust, expressive, efficient, and tractable formal verification tools. Since there is currently no event dedicated to this pursuit, the first goal of this Dagstuhl Seminar is to bring together a dedicated community of researchers in a single venue. This will give participants an opportunity to identify and discuss the most pressing challenges and promising directions for quantum programming and verification.

In 2026, it will be 10 years since the first quantum computing device was put on the cloud by IBM. This event marked the beginning of an era where researchers from all over the world could access real quantum computers, assess their strengths and limitations, and develop tailor-made algorithms. Since then, several scientific fields have come together to extract the most from current-term quantum devices while preparing new algorithmic solutions for future quantum computers. The goal of this School is to expose students and young researchers to a large collection of areas in the state of the art of quantum computing, including topics of theory, hardware, and software. The current term quantum computers are imperfect, which limits some of the original quantum computing algorithms and applications. For this reason, the new generation of quantum computing scientists must know both the experimental phenomena and limitations and the possible applications, theoretical and software tools to exploit these devices.

Situated at the rapidly growing intersection of quantum physics and information theory, quantum resource theories aim to characterise the valuable resources that enable quantum technologies to surpass their classical counterparts. By developing general and rigorous methods to understand, quantify, and effectively exploit these resources, the field seeks to enable new theoretical frameworks as well as practical protocols that harness the full potential of quantum phenomena.

The Quantum Science GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The three core objectives of the event are: (i) Accelerating research by crossing disciplinary boundaries between chemistry, physics, math, computer science and engineering, theory and experiment, quantum information processing and its "hardware" materials. (ii) Training junior researches in QIS with tutorials, research talks, and by providing them with opportunities to interact directly with leaders in the field. (iii) Strengthening QIS research in Canada by promoting collaborations and increasing the visibility of Canadian contributions to the field. QIS has evolved into a broad field encompassing numerous subfields. The primary goal of this conference is to foster interactions and collaborations among researchers working across diverse areas of QIS. Unlike many conferences that focus on one specific subfield of QIS, this event aims to bring to the same room researchers from a wide spectrum of QIS topics, and including theory and experimental work. The event will cover the study of foundations and applications in QIS and various prominent physical platforms: photons, atoms, molecules, and solid-state systems. The second objective of the conference is to train the next generation of QIS researchers including senior undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career researchers. The event will provide Canadian and international trainees with knowledge on the current state of the field and an understanding of key challenges in QIS.

The AQIS’26 conference will focus on quantum information processing, communication and cryptography, an interdisciplinary field bridging quantum physics, computer science, mathematics, and information technologies.
