WPRS — 23rd Annual Meeting of the Working Party on Scientific Issues and Uncertainty Analysis of Reactor Systems
16 fév 2026 - 20 fév 2026 • Paris, France
Organisateur:
OECD Nuclear Energy Agency, Division of Nuclear Law
Résumé:
Under the guidance of the NEA Nuclear Science Committee (NSC), the Working Party on Scientific Issues and Uncertainty Analysis of Reactor Systems (WPRS) studies the reactor physics, fuel performance, and radiation transport and shielding in present and future nuclear power systems. The working party also studies the uncertainties associated with the modelling of these phenomena, particularly the modelling of reactor transient events.

Passive Systems Performance and Reliability Workshop
30 mar 2026 - 01 avr 2026 • Paris, France
Organisateur:
OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), in collaboration with the European project EASI-SMR
Résumé:
The OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), in collaboration with the European project EASI-SMR, is pleased to announce the International Workshop on Passive Systems Performance and Reliability, to be held in Paris, France, from 30 March to 1 April 2026. This workshop is organised under the auspices of the NEA Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations (CSNI), by its Working Group on Risk Assessment (WGRISK) and Working Group on Analysis and Management of Accidents (WGAMA), in collaboration with the EASI-SMR project, co-funded by the Euratom Research and Training Programme.

Passive safety systems are central to the safety concepts of many advanced reactor designs, including Small modular reactors (SMRs) and micro-reactors. Despite their widespread use, consensus is lacking regarding modelling approaches, reliability assessment, and crediting methods in safety analyses. This workshop builds on the 2024 NEA Status Report on Reliability of Thermal-Hydraulic Passive Systems and supports the goals of the Ensuring Assessment of Safety Innovations for SMR (EASI-SMR project), which addresses key safety challenges in light-water SMRs through a structured R&D framework.

TINCE’26 — Technological Innovations in Nuclear Civil Engineering
20 mai 2026 - 22 mai 2026 • Tours, France
Résumé:
With the current global focus on climate change and the energy crisis, nuclear energy is playing an increasingly important role in achieving deep decarbonization. This was recognized at COP28 in Dubai (2023), where nuclear energy was identified as a major low-emission technology. As of 2024, there are approximately 60 nuclear reactors under construction worldwide and around 110 additional planned reactors, most of which are based on traditional water-cooled technologies. Furthermore, new reactor types such as Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMR) are gaining traction, demanding innovations in ground and civil structures.
Sujets:
TINCE’26 will focus on the interplay between design and construction, an evolving area that leverages advances in interoperability between BIM and structural calculations. The development of environmentally friendly materials with lower carbon emissions is a key priority. Additionally, the conference will address long-term operational challenges, like structural health monitoring and the development of tools for managing aging effects in nuclear facilities. These include new sensing techniques, non-destructive testing methods, and digital twins to assess and predict asset conditions.
