The past ten years have seen an explosion of information regarding stem cells (SCs) within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, due to an improved ability to identify SCs, follow their fates, and manipulate them in vitro. The next frontier in the field of GI stem cell biology is understanding the role that dysregulated ISC behavior plays in the etiology of numerous diseases, and conversely, the impact of GI diseases on proper SC function. This meeting will bring together a diverse group of investigators to discuss topics such as how the environment of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon impacts SC behavior in healthy and diseased states, how SC behaviour and the niche differ along the proximal-distal axis of the GI tract, and the strengths of various models for investigating the relationship between gastrointestinal SCs, the niche, and the onset and propagation of disease states.

AMMF

The annual AMMF cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) conference facilitates and encourages the sharing of information amongst interested medics in the UK, Europe and internationally. It provides an opportunity to find out about improvements in treatments, new and ongoing clinical trials, updates on research and encourages collaboration between researchers and medics. For 2024, AMMF is delighted to welcome Professor Shahid Khan and Professor Chiara Braconi, two internationally renowned specialists at the forefront of the CCA world, who will co-chair a conference dedicated to exploring the advances that are happening now. European Helicobacter and Microbiota Study Group

The European Helicobacter and Microbiota Study Group (EHMSG) is a multidisciplinary group composed of representatives from most countries of the EU. It was founded in 1987 by a collaboration of pioneers in the field of Helicobacter and expanded its remit in 2016 to embrace the collective gastrointestinal microbiota. This includes dissemination of medical, scientific and technical information in order to promote health and decrease the burden of digestive diseases.

Each year, EHMSG hosts a conference consisting of a one-day postgraduate course followed by a 2-day workshop.
