We are excited to announce the launch of the 3rd International Online Conference on Toxins (IOCT 2025). The conference, organized by the MDPI open-access journal Toxins (ISSN: 2072-6651; Impact Factor: 3.9), will be held online from 10 to 12 September 2025. Building on the success of our previous online conferences, we will continue this year but with a new addition to our program. In addition to the Best Oral Presentation Award and the Best Poster Award, the IOCT 2025 conference is proud to introduce the Young Investigator Award. This award is designed to honor and encourage the outstanding achievements of young researchers in toxins research. We warmly welcome submissions from young investigators for this special category.

Das Motto der Tagung – „Changing the face of epidemiology“ – spiegelt die vielfältigen Herausforderungen wider, der sich unser Fach in besonderer Weise in den nächsten Jahren stellen muss. Unsere Aufgabe ist es, diese Herausforderungen zu nutzen, um unser Fach aktiv weiterzuentwickeln und an sich verändernde Rahmenbedingungen anzupassen. Die Keynote Speaker der Jahrestagung, Martin Lercher (Düsseldorf), Ahmed Alaa (Berkeley) und Sarah C. Hull (Yale), werden hierbei wichtige Impulse setzen, die im Rahmen der Veranstaltung weiter diskutiert werden können.

„Changing the face of epidemiology“ – zeigt sich auch in der veränderten Struktur der Jahrestagung. Durch eine Reduktion von Parallelveranstaltungen und eine Fokussierung der Sessions auf die über verschiedene Anwendungsbereiche hinweg verbindenden methodischen Ansätze der Epidemiologie möchten wir die Interdisziplinarität des Faches betonen und den methodischen Austausch fördern.
