The 2024 call for papers is now open, and we encourage researchers and engineers to contribute advancements in sensors, infrared, laser systems, spectral imaging, radar, lidar, autonomous systems, and other findings with the community.

This year’s seminar will focus on timely themes in many-body quantum science ranging from quantum computation, to quantum simulations and studies of synthetic quantum matter, to quantum sensing and metrology. The seminar will address the latest advances in these dynamical research fields and touch upon a diversity of topics, including dynamics of quantum systems out-of-equilibrium, recent developments in quantum information processing, progress towards fault-tolerant computation and emerging quantum science platforms.

Gordon Research Conference — Many-Body Quantum Systems: Quantum Computing, Simulation, Sensing, and Emerging Platforms

Résumé:
Quantum information science has made remarkable strides, with transformational breakthroughs in even the last five years. Quantum computers are becoming increasingly powerful, and companies and researchers are exploring their potential for solving complex problems, having now demonstrated first results that go beyond the capabilities of classical simulators. Despite these advances, critical challenges remain between present capabilities and transformative, fault-tolerant quantum computing: development of error correction codes to mitigate the effects of decoherence; development of scalable hardware architectures; and even discovery of algorithms that efficiently leverage quantum advantage. Furthermore, establishing practical quantum networks requires further exploration. This GRC aims to convene experienced and early-career researchers from both academic and industrial backgrounds, fostering discussions, idea exchange, and the juxtaposition of theoretical advancements with experimental achievements.
