Herglotz-Nevanlinna functions and their applications to dispersive systems and composite materials
23 May 2022 - 27 May 2022 • Marseille , France
Organizer:
CIRM - Luminy - Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques
Abstract:
The aim of this conference is to gather several communities: pure mathematicians, applied mathematicians, physicists and engineers around Herglotz-Nevanlinna functions and their connections with physics and engineering. Its main focus is communicating the needs of people on the applied side and the tools of those on the more theoretical side and thus laying the foundations for future interactions.

Summer School on Motives and Arithmetic Groups
13 Jun 2022 - 17 Jun 2022 • Strasbourg, France
Organizer:
Institut de Recherche Mathématique Avancée de Strasbourg
Abstract:
The aim of the summer school is to provide an introduction to recent advances in the understanding of the number-theoretic content of the cohomology of arithmetic groups and of algebraic K-groups of number rings. Uncovering this information reveals deep connections with algebraic geometry, namely with the theory of motives and with motivic homotopy theory. Surprisingly, this happens even when the arithmetic groups under consideration are not directly linked with algebraic varieties.
Topics:
Mixed Tate motives, Dedekind zeta values, and polylogarithms, Weighted cohomology of Shimura varieties, Hermitian K-theory of number rings and special values of L-functions, Motivic cohomology and cohomology of arithmetic groups

Motives, quadratic forms and arithmetic — À l'occasion du 64ème anniversaire de Bruno Kahn
24 Oct 2022 - 28 Oct 2022 • Lens, France
Abstract:
Motives were originally introduced by Grothendieck in the sixties to provide a universal source to various cohomology theories of algebraic, geometric and arithmetic nature. The works of Hanamura, Levine and Voevodsky in the nineties, followed by many others, have shed a new light on the subject by introducing triangulated categories of motives and relating them to a newly defined homotopy category of schemes. More recent avatars of motives include the motives with modulus of Kahn, Miyazaki, Saito and Yamazaki or the log-motives of Binda, Park and Østvær, both purposely avoiding A1-invariance.
