CIRM – Research in Pairs — Determination of Reducing Submodules of Hilbert Modules Possessing an Invariant Kernel
22 Jun 2020 - 03 Jul 2020 • CIRM (Marseille Luminy), France
Organizer:
CIRM – Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques
Abstract:
Let G be a finite group and Ω be a domain in C n such that G acts on Ω. Assume that H ⊆ Hol(Ω) be a Hilbert space with a G-invariant reproducing kernel K, then {P% : % ∈ Gb} is a family of orthogonal projections which add up to the identity operator on H, where Gb is the unitary dual of G. One of the basic consequences is the description of reducing submodules of H, viewed as a module over the ring of invariants C[z] G, via this family of projections. We are interested to study the questions of minimality of these reducing submodules and mutual inequivalence over the invariant ring C[z] G, where G is a finite pseudo-reflection group. We feel that the Chevalley-Shephard-Todd theorem characterizing the finite pseudo-reflection groups in terms of their invariant ring and our extension of this theorem in the category of holomorphic functions could be a key step towards this study

Set Estimation: a Bridge between Spatial Statistics and Stochastic Geometry
29 Jun 2020 - 03 Jul 2020 • CIRM (Marseille Luminy), France
Organizer:
CIRM – Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques
Abstract:
By set estimation, we mean the study of an inverse statistical problem to build consistent inference procedures and associated algorithms, starting from eventually sparse observations. Talks will be devoted to this question by firstly presenting the set of interest and its properties then the methods developed for its estimation. The program will include talks directed toward theory and applications. Young researches will be encouraged to present their work.

CIRM – Research in Pairs — The Virasoro Algebra as a Limit of Temperley-Lieb Algebras via Fusion Categories
20 Jul 2020 - 31 Jul 2020 • CIRM (Marseille Luminy), France
Organizer:
CIRM – Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques
Abstract:
The core problem of this project stems from the heuristic articulated by many authors in mathematics and mathematical physics over an extended period, (e.g. [1, 2, 6, 4], etc.) that when q 2 is a primitive ` th root of unity, there is a connection between limn→∞ TLn(q) where TLn(q) is the Temperley-Lieb algebra on the one hand, and the Virasoro algebra L = ⊕i∈ZCLi ⊕ CC on the other. The search for such a connection has hitherto led to many tantalising analogies, but as yet no definitive theorems.

We shall pursue two distinct approaches to the problem...

CIRM – Research in Pairs — Nijenhuis Geometry
31 Aug 2020 - 11 Sep 2020 • CIRM (Marseille Luminy), France
Organizer:
CIRM – Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques
Abstract:
Nijenhuis operators are defined to be fields of endomorphisms with vanishing Nijenhuis torsion. They appeared as independent objects and play an essential role in different branches of geometry and mathematical physics. The current state of art in this theory is as follows: The definition is well known, basic properties are understood and local normal forms are classified in certain particular cases. Our main goal is to initiate the study of Nijenhuis operators from a global viewpoint. We also aim at understanding their singularities.

CIRM – Research in Pairs — Metric Connexions with Skew-Symmetric and Parallel Torsion
14 Sep 2020 - 25 Sep 2020 • CIRM (Marseille Luminy), France
Organizer:
CIRM – Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques
Abstract:
Our main objective is to consider the general case, when the Riemannian submersion is no longer a principal fibration, and try to show that the torsion of the base still vanishes. If this conjecture is true, the full classification of geometries with parallel skew-symmetric torsion would then reduce to the study of principal bundles with parallel curvature.

CIRM – Research in Pairs — Tropical Representations of Monoids and Matroids
26 Oct 2020 - 06 Nov 2020 • CIRM (Marseille Luminy), France
Organizer:
CIRM – Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques
Abstract:
Tropical matrices and their unique correspondence to weighted digraphs establish a main tool for algebraic representations and studying of combinatorial objects. With these representations sophisticated combinatorial and algorithmic aspects become transparent, making the theory more comprehensive and applicable. Tropical matrices have a very special behavior – they admit a nontrivial semigroup identity. This property is highly significant, and is carried over to any faithfully represented monoid, having direct implications in graph theory and automata theory.
