ICMLT 2021 — 2021 6th International Conference on Machine Learning Technologies
23 Apr 2021 - 25 Apr 2021 • Jeju Island, South Korea
Organizer:
CZES
Abstract:
The main theme of the conference is to address and deliberate on the latest technical status and recent trends in the research and applications of machine learning technologies. The purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity for the scientists, engineers, industrialists, scholars and other professionals from all over the world to interact and exchange their new ideas and research outcomes in related fields and develop possible chances for future collaboration. The conference is also aimed at motivating the next generation of researchers to promote their interests in machine learning technologies. Machine Learning usually plays an important role in the transition from data storage to decision systems based on large databases of signals such as the obtained from sensor networks, internet services, or communication systems. These systems imply developing both computational solutions and novel models. Signals from real-world systems are usually complex such as speech, music, bio-medical, multimedia, among others. Thus, Signal Processing techniques are very useful for these type of systems to automate processing and analysis techniques to retrieve information from data storage. Topics will range from foundations for real-world systems, and processing, such as speech, language analysis, biomedicine, convergence and complexity analysis, machine learning, social networks, sparse representations, visual analytics, robust statistical methods.

Integration of Model- and Data-Driven Methods for Medical Imaging
12 Sep 2021 - 17 Sep 2021 • Oaxaca, Mexico
Organizer:
Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, Canada
Abstract:
Recent remarkable advances in learning-based methods are revolutionizing the field of image analysis resulting in a paradigm shift towards data-driven approaches. These methods have already shown tremendous success in a wide range of applications from computer vision such as object detection and object category classifications. To perform efficiently though, such methods typically require a large number of training sample and this requirement is highly impractical or impossible in applications from medical imaging where it is very laborious and expensive to generate labeled data. Another drawback of learning-based method is that they do not come with provable performance guarantees. One remedy to such limitations is to combine data-driven methods with prior knowledge through mathematical and/or physical models in such a way to optimize processing, reconstruction and analysis of medical imaging data without the need of extensive training. This workshop will bring together researchers with a different background ranging from optimization, inverse problem, numerical and harmonic analysis and machine learning to advance state-of-the-art methods combining data- and model-driven approaches for medical imaging.

LOD 2021 — The 7th Online & Onsite International Conference on Machine Learning, Optimization, and Data Science
05 Oct 2021 - 08 Oct 2021 • Grasmere and online, United Kingdom
Organizer:
ICAS
Abstract:
Since 2015, the LOD Conference brings academics, researchers and industrial researchers together in a unique interdisciplinary community to discuss and present the state of the art and the latest advances in the integration of machine learning, optimization and data science to provide and support the scientific and technological foundations for interpretable, explainable and trustworthy AI. Since 2017, LOD adopted the Asilomar AI Principles.

After numerous discussions, we have concluded that holding the event this year in hybrid form, both onsite and virtual (as was done for LOD 2020) as this is most beneficial for the LOD community rather than postponing the conference to 2022. The organizing committee of LOD 2021 has decided to run the conference on the scheduled dates (October 5-8, 2021), and to run it as a hybrid conference. The Wordsworth Hotel & SPA in Grasmere – Lake District England (our conference venue) has enough space to obey the safety rules (put in place due to COVID-19).

Organizer:
The Optical Society (OSA)
Abstract:
The Optical Tomography and Spectroscopy (OTS) Topical Meeting builds on the strong foundations of the OSA Biomedical Optics Topical meeting where groundbreaking research on optical tomography and spectroscopy was historically discussed since mid-1990’s. Example topics central to this meeting are novel instrumentation, data analysis algorithms, pre-clinical and clinical applications highlighting the validation and applicability of novel methods and concepts. This meeting is unique in the sense that it brings together researchers working at all levels of this multi-disciplinary effort and has historically been providing the echo-system that has been feeding other more specialized areas and applications. Optical coherence tomography, photoacoustics, diffuse correlation spectroscopy have all spun out of this meeting and now stand-alone application areas such as functional near-infrared spectroscopy of the brain emerged.
