ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE)

The Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE TS) is organized by the ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE) and is the organization’s flagship conference. The SIGCSE Technical Symposium addresses problems common among educators working to develop, implement and/or evaluate computing programs, curricula, and courses. The symposium provides a forum for sharing new ideas for syllabi, laboratories, and other elements of teaching and pedagogy, at all levels of instruction. The symposium provides a diverse selection of technical sessions and opportunities for learning and interaction.

The Learning Ideas Conference

The Learning Ideas Conference 2026 is where innovation meets education. As emerging technologies reshape how we teach and learn, this global gathering will bring together researchers, practitioners, and learning professionals from more than 50 countries to explore the future of learning. Held June 10th–12th, 2026, in New York City and online, with additional online-only days, the conference features expert presentations, case studies, workshops, and interactive discussions spanning workplace learning, higher education, and beyond. Conference proceedings will be published as a book/ebook by Springer (with ISBN).

Sommergarten 2026 will provide a new collective where students, teachers, scholars, and other interested community members can share and discuss research on the intersections between language learning, culture, and pedagogy. Although research shows that the importance of learning about our societies and cultures is widely recognized, a number of studies reveal that many language educators find culture distinctly difficult to teach, and/or in some cases feel they possess inadequate cultural knowledge or awareness themselves. This has implications for students who are in need of cultural learning opportunities, yet lack access to them or participate in educational activities that are poorly designed and implemented. Sommergarten’s inaugural symposium will serve as a shared space where those involved and interested in language education can discover efforts across the globe to increase cultural learning, as well as consider various scholarly perspectives on improving and sustaining our abilities to teach it.
