SOC — Overwhelmed by alerts? Prioritising and Rationalising Threat Notifications in the Security Operations Centre
19 avr 2021 • Londres, Royaume-Uni
Organisateur:
SMi Group
Résumé:
A security operations centre (SOC) will deliver uninterrupted monitoring of an organisation’s IT network, computers, servers, databases, applications, security systems, internet traffic and all other components within the digital infrastructure. Any incidents detected will be investigated and analysed promptly, with alerts raised and immediate action taken to minimise the risk of operational disruption from a potential security breach. An effective SOC is relatively self-contained, is well equipped with the latest monitoring, analytical tools and will be operated 24/7 by a specialist team of highly experienced cybersecurity professionals.

IT Security Camp im Mai 2021 im Online-Format — Das Intensivtraining für IT-Security mit Christian Schneider
03 mai 2021 - 05 mai 2021 • online, n’importe où (en ligne)
Organisateur:
Software & Support Media GmbH

Contextual Integrity for Differential Privacy
09 mai 2021 - 14 mai 2021 • Oaxaca, Mexique
Organisateur:
Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, Canada
Résumé:
Privacy concerns are becoming a major obstacle to using data, and it is often unclear how current regulations should translate into technology. Over the last decade, differential privacy has emerged as the de facto algorithmic gold-standard in privacy-preserving data analysis, enabling analysis of sensitive data with rigorous privacy guarantees. It is a parameterized privacy notion, and tuning this privacy parameter allows an analyst to smoothly tradeoff between privacy to the individual with accuracy of the analysis. Much of the theoretical work on differential privacy has purposely left this parameter as a free variable that should be chosen based upon the context of data use. Contextual integrity is a framework for formalizing context of data use, and offers a descriptive categorization of information flows as either appropriate or inappropriate based upon the context and cultural norms. This workshop will combine tools from differential privacy and contextual integrity to develop context-based prescriptions for the use and implementation of differential privacy. It will bring together a multi-disciplinary team of privacy researchers from computer science, information science, statistics, business, law, and public policy to address this multifaceted challenge.

WOOT '21 — 15th IEEE Workshop on Offensive Technologies
27 mai 2021 • Virtual Event, États-Unis
Résumé:
The Workshop on Offensive Technologies (WOOT) aims to present a broad picture of offense and its contributions, bringing together researchers and practitioners across all areas of computer security. Offensive security has changed from a hobby to an industry. No longer an exercise for isolated enthusiasts, offensive security is today a large-scale operation managed by organized, capitalized actors. Meanwhile, the landscape has shifted: software used by millions is built by startups less than a year old, delivered on mobile phones and surveilled by national signals intelligence agencies. In the field's infancy, offensive security research was conducted separately by industry, independent hackers, or in academia. Collaboration between these groups was difficult. Since 2007, the Workshop on Offensive Technologies (WOOT) has been bringing those communities together.

Workshop on Differential Privacy and Statistical Data Analysis
13 jui 2022 - 17 jui 2022 • The Fields Institute –Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Organisateur:
The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences
Résumé:
How can we obtain scientic benefits from statistical analysis of sensitive data, without compromising the privacy of the individuals who contribute their data? The past decade has seen rapid progress on this question due to the emergence of a mathematically rigorous privacy framework known as differential privacy. Informally, differential privacy provides a robust individual privacy guarantee, ensuring that no adversary, regardless of their capabilities, can learn much more about an individual user than they could have learned had that user's data never been collected.
