A Multimodality Imaging Approach to Women's Health

Abstract:
This CME course with faculty from Penn Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital, will present current diagnostic radiology approaches to women’s health. These include diseases of the breast, benign and malignant disorders of the pelvis, lung cancer and colon cancer, thyroid disease, and osteoporosis. The course is intended for all health care providers who care for women and who order and interpret radiology studies, including internists, gynecologists, family physicians, and general radiologists. The role of interventional radiology will be included. Appropriate utilization of screening techniques will be examined, including tomosynthesis, ultrasound, MRI, DXA, MRI, and PET/CT. In addition, disparities in women’s healthcare, the global impact of imaging in women’s health, and ethical considerations will be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to earn 14.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ and 12 SAM credits.

This course is designed for clinical radiologists and focuses on algorithmic approaches to common though challenging imaging diagnoses encountered in day-to-day clinical practice. Experienced subspecialty Penn Radiology faculty will cover topics in musculoskeletal, breast, chest, body, and pediatric imaging. Didactic lectures will emphasize methodical and practical approaches to difficult cases rather than granular disease-related details. The course design allows attendees to apply these approaches in daily instructor-led curated and interactive case sessions that highlight materials learned in the preceding didactics.
