CBP — Evaluating Biopharma: Cell Therapy Strategies
15 Dec 2022 • virtual, Any Location (virtual event)
Organizer:
Cambridge Healthtech Institute
Abstract:
There have been tremendous advancements and breakthroughs in cell therapy treatments. Autologous treatments are extremely effective personalized therapies, but have significant medical, cost and commercialization limitations. Allogeneic treatments provide us with an opportunity to expand and extend access to personalized therapies to patients in need, but face efficacy, safety, and process hurdles. While related, the differences are stark, forcing your company to make unique and critical process and business decisions to ensure your company implements the best technologies to execute the most effective autologous and/or allogeneic cell therapy manufacturing strategy.

Training — Chemical Development & Scale-Up in the Fine Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industries
16 Jan 2023 - 23 Jan 2023 • Online Platform, Any Location (virtual event)
Organizer:
Scientific Update Ltd.
Abstract:
This three-day course, written and presented by highly experienced process chemists from the pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry, provides a comprehensive overview of this fascinating and important element of the chemical industry. A logical investigative approach to all aspects of chemical development is described, with an abundance of case studies from literature, conferences and private communications. The multi-disciplinary nature of chemical development is emphasised, from the initial interaction with laboratory research scientists to the vital partnership with chemical engineers in the pilot plant and in the production environment. The lectures are interspersed with interactive problem sessions, enabling participants to share in the problem solving and troubleshooting typically experienced during chemical development.

Training — Understanding Polymorphism and Crystallisation Issues in the Pharmaceutical Industry
13 Feb 2023 - 17 Feb 2023 • Online Platform, Any Location (virtual event)
Organizer:
Scientific Update Ltd.
Abstract:
5 sessions aim to give chemists and chemical engineers a thorough practical knowledge of crystallisation processes. After an introduction the course will cover crystallisation of compounds (including hydrates and solvates), different methods of crystallisation, polymorphism, salts and co-crystals, crystallisation of chiral compounds and classical resolution, analytical methods for studying the solid state and will finish with some case studies. Real life practical examples will be used throughout the course to exemplify the different aspects of crystallisation and polymorphism. The course will cover all aspects of the subject including crystallization of intermediates as well as final products. In addition, precipitations and amorphous solids will be covered and the differences between amorphous solids and crystalline solids will be discussed.
