This GRC is dedicated to the use of plasmons to drive diverse physical and chemical processes, and to the improvement of the understanding of plasmon-controlled generation, manipulation, and conversion of photons, charges, and phonons that are involved in the plasmon-driven processes. New plasmonic applications will be identified. Challenging problems related to plasmonically powered processes will be discussed.

Gordon Research Conference — Topological and Correlated Matter

Zusammenfassung:
During the past four years, new phenomena and material systems kept emerging. The artificially designed 2D materials have quickly become an important playground of this field, where correlation and topology are deeply intertwined. In addition to the twisted graphene systems, new topological and strongly correlated states are discovered also in twisted TMD layers recently bringing interesting new problems to the field. Another new territory for the topological and correlated systems is the non-equilibrium systems, where new topological states have been proposed and discovered in non-hermitian and Floquet systems. Impressive progress has also been made in more traditional bulk crystal materials, where new systems with quantum anomalous Hall states and axion insulators have been discovered and topological classification for magnetic crystals has been accomplished. Now, it is time to gather again and share the latest progresses and ideas.

Compressible flows are ubiquitous in nature with a broad spectrum of applications and they are important objects of the study in mathematical and physical sciences and engineering. Despite the old history and physical importance, mathematical understanding of the system of partial differential equations describing dynamics of inviscid compressible fluids such as the Euler equations remain challenging. In recent years, several deep and unexpected results were obtained by using a variety of elaborate techniques from distinct communities, which generated significant interests in the field and led to major advances in the mathematical study of inviscid compressible flows including non-uniqueness of weak solutions, the stability of very rough solutions, the formation of singularities, and the study of free boundary problems. The workshop brings together experts in compressible fluid dynamics from diverse communities, creates an inclusive atmosphere where the latest developments, ideas and techniques are vigorously discussed, and provides a unique opportunity to foster a new community with a large set of skills. Another important goal of the workshop is to introduce early career researchers to this active area of research and to provide a training and networking opportunity.

Zusammenfassung:
The TAN 23 is the seventh in the series of international conferences dedicated to recent achievements and developments in experiments and theory of the chemistry and physics of transactinide elements.

The conference will take place in Huizhou, a beautiful city of Guangdong province of southeast China. At the present, Institute of Modern Physics is constructing two large-scale scientific facilities in Huizhou, High Intensity Heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF) and China initiative Accelerator Driven System (CiADS). The new facilities will enable scientists to continue to push the frontiers of science and technology, for the benefit of all. The scientific program of this conference will cover experimental and theoretical aspects of synthesis of the superheavy elements, nuclear reactions, nuclear structure, chemistry, atomic properties, and related topics.
