The international conference ‘Fast Radio Bursts Symposium 2023 in Taiwan’ will be held in a hybrid form from Feb. 8 (Wed) to Feb. 10 (Fri) 2023. Given the extremely rapid progress, both in FRB observations and theoretical studies, face-to-face interaction (with a hybrid option) will benefit the collaborations, exchange of new ideas, and interdisciplinary research between multi-wavelengths and multi-messengers.
This conference is timely for the Taiwanese FRB community since we recently launched a new FRB telescope project in Taiwan: the Bustling Universe Radio Survey Telescope in Taiwan (BURSTT). The BURSTT project is a collaboration of National Chung-Hsing University (NCHU), National Taiwan University (NTU), National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU), and Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (ASIAA). This project is led by Prof. Ue-Li Pen from the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics, ASIAA in Taiwan, and is funded by the National Science and Technology Council of Taiwan for the next four years, from 2022 to 2026. Therefore, we hope that the conference would also be an ideal place to discuss future collaborations among FRB facilities to maximize the science outcome in the coming years.
