EWCPS2021 — 2023 European Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry
29 Jan 2023 - 03 Feb 2023 • Ljubljana, Slovenia
Organizer:
The National Institute of Chemistry
Abstract:
The EWCPS2021 will be the 19th time this event is organized and is a continuation of the well-established and successful conference series that started in 1985. These biennial conferences, organized by European research groups in uneven years, have become recognized and valuable platforms to exchange experience and share progress in the development and use of analytical plasma spectrochemical techniques. Over the course of five days a broad and attractive program will be offered, focusing on topics concerning mass and emission spectrometric techniques, including fundamentals and instrumentation, sample introduction techniques, glow discharge, laser ablation, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy, isotopic analysis, speciation and metallomics, quality control, and applications in disciplines such as geology, medicine, biology, forensics, materials science, archaeology, etc.

Gordon Research Conference — Gaseous Ions: Structures, Energetics and Reactions
19 Feb 2023 - 24 Feb 2023 • Ventura, CA, United States
Abstract:
This conference focuses on the fundamentals of gas-phase ion chemistry and applications in which gas-phase ion chemistry and physics play a pivotal role. The meeting emphasizes the development of new and the use of more mature experimental and theoretical approaches for studying the structures, energetics, and reactivity of gaseous ions and their applications to systems ranging from atomic ions to complex macromolecular assemblies. The conference will highlight the development of new instrumentation and the use of sophisticated experimental techniques, including mass spectrometry, optical spectroscopy and ion mobility that enable elucidation of the intrinsic properties of both simple and complex systems. The conference will also include the development of new theoretical techniques as well as the use of well-developed computational approaches in support of experimental measurements. Topics include structural characterization of gaseous ions, fundamentals of ionization, activation, and dissociation; ion-molecule, ion-ion, ion-electron, and ion-surface interactions, and ion reactivity in various environments. The meeting attracts researchers from a broad range of disciplines providing an excellent forum for the exchange of scientific ideas.

Gordon Research Conference — Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms
05 Mar 2023 - 10 Mar 2023 • Galveston, TX, United States
Organizer:
How Understanding Reaction Mechanisms Transforms Approaches to Solving Challenges in the 21st Century
Abstract:
Metals are used in a variety of chemical processes, ranging from the production of new materials, polymers, pharmaceuticals, and new sources of energy to enzymatic reactions. Mechanistic inorganic chemists use a variety of techniques to determine how these reactions take place. This knowledge provides the foundation for cleaner (‘greener’) manufacturing processes and fuels, new materials, and a better understanding of biological processes. The 2023 Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms Gordon Conference will cover the spectrum of activities in mechanistic inorganic chemistry, including new mechanistic techniques.
