The 10th VLTI school of interferometry
06. Jun 2021 - 12. Jun 2021 • Sophia-Antipolis, Frankreich
VLTI schools of interferometry have been organized roughly every two years since the opening of ESO Very Large Telescope Interferometer in 2002. They have helped to train hundreds of astrophysicists in using interferometry and the instruments at VLTI and other facilities for their research. The aim of these VLTI schools is to offer Ph.D. students, post-doctoral and permanent researchers an introduction to the technique of long-baseline optical/infrared interferometry, an overview of the current generation of instruments, and lectures and practice sessions in data reduction, modelling and image reconstruction. Seminars and reviews on astrophysical results in various fields ranging from stellar physics to planetology and extra-galactic science are also given.
International School on The Interstellar Medium of Galaxies, from the Epoch of Reionization to the Milky Way
19. Jul 2021 - 23. Jul 2021 • Banyuls-sur-Mer, Frankreich
This international school will offer an overview of the observational constraints, the interpretative tools and the theoretical frameworks used for studying the interstellar medium in galaxies from the epoch of reionization to the Milky Way. Furthermore, it aims to build a synergy between the Galactic ISM and extragalactic communities. Time will be devoted to discussion between participants and lecturers, with the hope of kick-starting original projects.
QCD Master Class 2021
29. Aug 2021 - 11. Sep 2021 • Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer, Brittany, Frankreich
The QCD Master Class 2021 will take place on August 29 - September 11 2021 in Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer, a small village in Brittany (west of France) close to the city of Saint-Malo and the world famous Mont Saint-Michel. Five lectures in QCD, of 10 hours each, will be given to 35 young researchers and faculty staff members. The program of the QCD Master Class 2021 consists in lectures on three different topics each week, from Monday to Friday. The week-end in between the two weeks is left free.
ISyDMA’6 Pre-Conference — International Summer School on Advanced Materials for Energy (ISSAME).
13. Sep 2021 - 14. Sep 2021 • Saint-Omer, Frankreich
UDSMM Laboratory, University of Littoral-Côte d’Opale, France
The ISyDMA conference is an international event focused on recent developments in dielectric materials and their applications. It is aimed at PhD students, post-docs, researchers and engineers from public and private research organizations concerned with innovations in advanced dielectric materials for biomedical, biotechnological and industrial applications. The conference is aimed at materials specialists, physicists, chemists, biologists and engineers engaged in fundamental and applied research on dielectric materials and their innovative applications. ISyDMA is open to a large scientific community since it brings together between 150 and 200 researchers and industrialists of 20 to 25 different nationalities. This is the 6th edition, the previous having taken place in Kenitra and Rabat (Morocco) in 2016, in Bucharest (Romania) in 2017, in Beni-Mellal (Morocco) in 2018, in Amman (Jordan) in 2019 and in virtual in 2020 due to the current health context.

IsyDMA’6 will be organized as conferences, oral communications and poster sessions. Oral presentations will be grouped by thematic session beginning with invited lectures proposed by the scientific committee or chosen among the submitted papers. The works presented during the meeting will be published in an international scientific journal.

Given the current situation at COVID-19, in the event of travel restrictions prohibiting the physical presence of authors, the ISyDMA’6 organizing committee will ensure the promotion and dissemination of the authors research works. Video presentations will then be accepted as an alternative presentation. Information will be updated regularly on the conference website.

Due to the success of the ISyDMA’3 Pre-Conference: First Moroccan Spring School on Advanced Materials, in Marrakech, Morocco from 15 to 17 April 2018, and the ISyDMA’4 Pre-Conference School in Irbid, Jordan, from 30 April – 1 May, 2019, we proudly present our call for the ISyDMA’6 Pre-Conference: International Summer School on Advanced Materials for Energy (ISSAME), which will be held from 13 to 14 September 2021 in Saint-Omer, France . The scope of this Summer School is to familiarize students with the state of the art in advanced materials for energy. The target audience for the Pre-Conference School is graduate students and junior researchers (PhD students, postdocs).

Jean-Morlet Chair whole semester on Nonlinear PDEs in Fluid Dynamics
01. Jan 2022 - 30. Jun 2022 • CIRM Luminy, Marseille, Frankreich
The field of nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) in Fluid Dynamics has seen tremendous scientific activity in the last decade, due to the facts that the underlying governing equations have a very rich and complex structure and that many of these equations still lack basic understanding concerning global existence and uniqueness of smooth solutions. The PDEs modeling and describing fluid flows play an important role in various areas of mathematics, natural sciences and also engineering. This special semester at CIRM will focus on nonlinear PDEs arising in incompressible fluid dynamics, such as Euler- and Navier-Stokes equations, geophysical flows, liquid crystals and complex fluids, non-homogeneous fluids and critical spaces. The semester will feature an international conference, a large research school for young researchers, a thematic workshop, research in pairs events and a program of invitations open to early graduate researchers as well as more senior guests.
Les Houches School of Physics — Cloud Academy II
06. Mär 2022 - 18. Mär 2022 • Les Houches l’Ecole de Physique, Frankreich
Clouds and hazes form in nearly every type of planetary atmospheres. They fundamentally impact the atmospheric structure and spectra of exoplanets and even influence their habitability. Intensive observing efforts have generated an abundance of data on clouds and hazes in exoplanets but modeling expertise in the community has lagged. This school will focus on physical models for cloud and haze formation in planetary atmospheres in different radiation environments, and include reviews on exoplanet observations and laboratory studies.
