Symposium in honour of Professor Jens Weitkamp
11 Feb 2020 • DECHEMA-Haus, Frankfurt/Main, Germany
Professor Jens Weitkamp (5.6.1942 - 25.8.2019) was a pioneer in the field of zeolite catalysis, especially for refinery applications such as hydrocracking, isomerisation, alkylation, and, most recently, selective ring opening of polynuclear aromatics. With regard to the latter topic he introduced a novel class of high-performance ring-opening catalysts, so-called HYPEROCs. Jens Weitkamp loved and followed Pasteur`s words “There is no fundamental research, there is no applied research, there is only good research”. The colloquium will take place in honour of Professor Weitkamp. The programme covers both fundamental research and industrial application of zeolite catalysis and provides a glimpse into the future.
