Magnetism 2024
25 Mar 2024 - 26 Mar 2024 • Loughborough, United Kingdom
Organizer:
Institute of Physics (IOP)
Abstract:
The annual Magnetism conference hosted by Institute of Physics is the premier conference organised by the UK and RoI magnetism community. A mixture of invited talks and submitted contributions will allow the breadth of magnetism research in the UK and Rol to be presented. Participation from outside UK/Rol and from industry is also encouraged. The conference welcomes participation from across the breadth of magnetism and has included oral sessions on a range of subjects including: spintronics, 2D physics domain walls, dynamics vortices, skyrmions and topological systems, intelligent computing, spin ice, biological and organic magnetism, superconductors, magnetocalorics and ab initio theory.
Topics:
Spintronics; 2D magnetism physics; Magnetisation Dynamis; Skyrmions and topological systems, vortices and domain walls; Biomagnetism and sensors; Intelligent computing; Spin ice; Biological and organic magnetism; Superconductors; Magnetocalorics; Ab initio theory; Spin-caloritronics

TRTM 2024 — 1st Transnational Round Table on Magnonics, High-Frequency Spintronics, and Ultrafast Magnetism
03 Jun 2024 - 07 Jun 2024 • Exeter, United Kingdom
Abstract:
The aim of the Transnational Round Table on Magnonics, High-Frequency Spintronics, and Ultrafast Magnetism (TRTM) is to offer an inclusive platform for efficient exchange of ideas, knowledge, and expertise in an open-science format that stimulates community building, inter-community dialogue, and cooperative approach to research pathfinding and responsible innovation both within the involved topics and beyond their disciplinary boundaries; lowers barriers for participation related to one's career stage and availability of funding; removes barriers for participation related to irrelevant individual differences.

The first TRTM, i.e. TRTM 2024, is an experiment and bears some risks, as any new beginning. Yet, we hope it will evolve into a conference format that will complement those of traditional academic meetings. So, join the TRTM's inaugurational edition and take part in defining the future of scientific face-to-face dissemination!

ESM2024 — The European School on Magnetism 2024: Magnetism for energy-efficient devices
10 Jun 2024 - 21 Jun 2024 • York, United Kingdom
Organizer:
European Magnetism Association
Abstract:
Like previous editions of ESM, the 2024 School aims at providing a thorough understanding of magnetism based on a broad series of fundamental lectures, while offering the latest insights into up-to-date aspects of magnetism with lectures focusing on a special topic. The objective of the 2024 school is to cover a wide range of fundamental to functional phenomena, to serve as a critical evaluation of the use of magnetism and magnetic materials to serve in energy-efficient devices, especially to address societal challenges. The School will be an opportunity for young scientists and lecturers from various fields to meet, share their expertise and build a network
