International Nanotribology Forum (INF)

The mission of the INF is to promote the dissemination of Nanotribology research results, via meetings and other mechanisms, such as this website. While all three meetings mentioned above were characterized by discussions of the frontiers of research in nanotribology, and this is the spirit in which the INF wishes to continue, a secondary aim of the INF is to make efforts to involve participants from developing nations. This is a reason for our choice of atypical locations for the meetings, which, thanks to their reasonable accommodation rates, enable attendance by those who normally cannot afford to attend such meetings. It is also envisioned that a significant number of studentships will be available for each meeting.

The proposed spring school intends to give a comprehensive introduction to phenomena, state-of-the-art modeling and analysis of contact tribology in terms of an interdisciplinary approach with a special emphasis on multi-scale aspects which are inherent to tribological problems.

The significance and purpose of holding this symposium is to share and exchange information at the top-level of the progress of tribology research and its application to automotive technology between industry and academia, and to demonstrate the potential of industry-academia collaboration through these activities.

The conference will focus on both fundamental and applied research of friction, wear, fretting, and lubrication covering all scales (from nano to macro). Scientific contributions in all aspects of tribology, including experimental studies, modelling, materials development, and surface engineering, are welcome. Scientific works covering global sustainability challenges, such as environmentally responsible solutions and innovations related to the future of energy use and storage are especially encouraged. NORDTRIB 2026 aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and international collaboration, providing a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and shaping future tribological science and technology.

Gordon Research Seminar

The Tribology GRS provides a unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators will facilitate active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators.

Gordon Research Conference

The Tribology GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes an array of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships.

International Tribology Council (ITC)

Sustainability, ecological and geopolitical demands create new challenges for tribologists and lubrication experts. Promoting appropriate innovative technologies and closing knowledge gaps are the intentions of the 3rd nextlub conference.
