The 2024 AIP Congress marks 50 years since the first Congress, a biennial event that has become the largest regular meeting of physicists in Australia. We are delighted to be joined this year by NFO, ANZCOP, and COMMAD, as well as a number of superb satellite conferences. The combined event will bring together those from a range of career stages working across the full breadth of the physical sciences and technology, in research, education, government and industry. For this anniversary event, we are busy preparing a rich program of plenary lectures, parallel specialised sessions, poster sessions, an exhibition, special events, industry events, and a gala conference dinner.

LEAPS – the League of European Accelerator-based Photon Sources

Hosted biennially, the International Conference on Research Infrastructures is the major professional forum for the global research infrastructure community. ICRI 2024 will bring together policymakers, research institution leaders, facility operators, users and researchers, to discuss pressing topics of interest, trends and challenges facing research infrastructures around the world. ICRI 2024 will be hosted in the beautiful city of Brisbane (Meanjin in Aboriginal language), the capital of the state of Queensland in Australia, traditionally owned by the Turrbal and Jagera People. With a population of 2.52 million, Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city and is situated in the southeastern coastal region of Queensland.

This symposium will be a broad look at SETI, including new technosignature search results and upper limits, new search methodologies and instrumentation, theory, and social aspects of the field including the post-detection protocols, message construction, and the historical roots of the field. Interdisciplinarity will be emphasized. As with previous instances, we encourage the submission of proposals for breakout sessions for workshops, tutorials, or special sessions on narrower topics. Early career researchers are especially encouraged to attend.
