Neutron Scattering Group Early Career Meeting
15 Jan 2026 - 16 Jan 2026 • Bristol, United Kingdom
Organizer:
Institute of Physics (IOP)
Abstract:
The UK Neutron Scattering Group is delighted to announce that its upcoming Early Career Meeting will be held in Bristol in January 2026. This gathering will provide a platform for networking with fellow neutron scattering researchers, participating in career development activities, and delivering oral presentations. Researchers from diverse backgrounds who utilise neutron scattering in any capacity are warmly invited to attend, provided they are early in their careers—typically within 12 years of completing their final degree.

WE-Heraeus-Seminar — Past, Present and Future of Reverse Monte Carlo Modeling: Recent Challenges in Determining Structure‐ Property Relationship in Materials
27 Jul 2026 - 31 Jul 2026 • Bad Honnef, Germany
Organizer:
Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Foundation
Abstract:
Reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) modeling has emerged as a powerful computational tool for reconstructing atomic configurations from experimental data, including X-ray and neutron scattering. By iteratively refining atomic positions to match measured structure factors, RMC provides insights into short- and intermediate-range order, structural motifs, and hidden correlations. The method has successfully been applied to liquids, covalent and metallic lasses, and disordered crystals, advancing our understanding of many complex structural henomena.

AOCNS 2027 — 5th Asia-Oceania Conference on Neutron Scattering
24 Nov 2027 - 28 Nov 2027 • Mumbai, India
Abstract:
The quadrennial Asia-Oceania Conference on Neutron Scattering plays a complementary role in the tripolar regional neutron conferences, along with the ACNS (American Conference on Neutron Scattering, organized by NSSA) and the ECNS (European Conference Neutron Scattering, organized by ENSA). These conferences cover all scientific areas of neutron scattering including fundamental physics, material science, magnetism, chemistry, disordered systems, biology, soft matter, surface/interface science and instrumentation. The scientific programs consist of a plenary lecture, invited lectures, poster presentations and AONSA Prize lecture.
