ICRM2023 — 23rd International Conference on Radionuclide Metrology and its Applications
27 Mar 2023 - 31 Mar 2023 • Bucharest, Romania
The conference is organized by the International Committee for Radionuclide Metrology (ICRM) and the Horia Hulubei National Institute for R&D in Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH).
Radionuclide metrology brings together interdisciplinary research and development teams (physicists, chemists, biologists, mathematicians, engineers etc.) with the main purpose to assure improved tools for the qualitative and quantitative characterization of the radionuclides. This work is important, because it has an impact on many applications for a sustainable development: life sciences, climate change, environmental protection (clean air, water and soil; food safety), nuclear energy, ionizing radiation protection, radioactive waste management, industry (new materials, radioactive standards, detectors etc.).

This scientific event will continue the tradition of the previous ICRM conferences in order to present new developments and enhance the international collaboration in the field of radionuclide metrology. There will be some changes in the usual program format, in order to make the conference more dynamic, interactive and modern.

CSSP23 — Carpathian Summer School of Physics 2023
02 Jul 2023 - 15 Jul 2023 • Sinaia, Romania
Horia Hulubei National Institute for R&D in Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH)
The Carpathian Summer School of Physics 2023, the 30th edition of this school, is scheduled to take place again in Sinaia, July 2-15, 2023. Given the improved conditions from the pandemic of recent years and the need to re-create the opportunities for in-person communication for all in our field, we will once again have this Carpathian school in-person.

The title and topics are being retained from recent past schools: "Exotic Nuclei and Nuclear/Particle Astrophysics. Physics with small accelerators”. It is part of the ENNAS (European Network of Nuclear Astrophysics Schools), is supported by the European Horizon 2020 project ChETEC-INFRA, and is recognized by the Division of Nuclear Physics of EPS.

The same format from recent schools will be maintained: a combination of school-like and conference presentations, with 1-2 hour-long invited lectures by senior scientists/professors and 20 minute short student communications. The school is aimed at graduate students, post-docs and young or established researchers. Students from all countries are invited to attend. A limited number of stipends to cover the local expenses for students will be available.
