GDS in strong and non-uniform magnetic fields
15 Jan 2020 - 17 Jan 2020 • Leuven, Belgium
Within ENSAR2, the GDS Network Activity workshop aims at gathering the nuclear physics community using gaseous detection systems to overcome challenges associated with their use in specific conditions: with ancillary detectors, in strong magnetic fields, with specific gases or very intense beams.

In this fourth topical workshop the status of the current instrumentation and future developments across the world will be presented, and dedicated sessions will be devoted to the issues and possibilities connected with the use of strongly non-uniform magnetic fields. While magnetic fields are largely employed for particle identification and separation, at times the requirement of high uniformity could be relaxed, allowing a more flexible and versatile use of gaseous detectors. These possibilities, however, entail aspects that need special attention.
