EMBO Workshop — Protein termini: From mechanisms to biological impact
08 Jun 2022 - 11 Jun 2022 • Bergen, Norway
Organizer:
European Molecular Biology Organization – EMBO
Abstract:
This conference will bring together scientists and students working on the co- and post-translational regulation of proteins, terminal protein modifications and modifying enzymes, and the impact of such terminal modifications at the protein level as well as in a broader biological perspective including human disease and plant homeostasis. The event will be relevant for researchers in the fields of structural biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, systems biology and biomedicine, and encompass model systems and biological regulation in bacteria, yeast, mammals and plants.

EMBO Practical Course — Advanced electron microscopy for cell biology
27 Jun 2022 - 06 Jul 2022 • Tromsø , Norway
Organizer:
European Molecular Biology Organization – EMBO
Abstract:
This EMBO Practical Course offers the opportunity to acquire a portfolio of cutting-edge electron microscopy (EM) methods, allowing the participants to integrate EM tools and readouts into the workflow of their own cell biology research projects. The Practical Course focuses on teaching the theoretical background and the latest practical developments in the field.
Topics:
State-of-the-art fixation, including cryo-methods ● Correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) ● Molecular mapping (immuno-EM) ● 3D EM using tomography and serial imaging ● Advanced quantitative image analysis (stereology, nanomorphomics)
Abstract submission deadline:

EMBO Workshop — Dynamic kinetochore
28 Jun 2022 - 01 Jul 2022 • Oslo , Norway
Organizer:
European Molecular Biology Organization – EMBO
Abstract:
The kinetochore is a dynamic proteinaceous structure that forms at centromeric chromatin. It connects spindle microtubules to chromosomes in order to ensure the equal segregation of chromosomes during mitosis and meiosis. Over the years, the Dynamic Kinetochore meeting has become the major venue for discussing the molecular details of kinetochore formation, structure and control and their relevance to cancer and other human diseases. The meeting encompasses the latest unpublished and cutting-edge research in the field and includes topics that span different disciplines (from biochemistry and biophysics to animal biology), and organisms (from yeast to human). Traditionally, the meeting fosters early career principal investigators, students and postdocs but also features key senior members of the field.
Abstract submission deadline:
15 Apr 2022
