This workshop will bring together experts to discuss the latest developments in theory and phenomenology.
Sujets:
Resummation for the LHC: precision frontier, new structures, and jet processes; EFT tools for fixed order calculations; Factorization theorems at leading and subleading power; EFTs and expansions for gravitational wave astronomy; Scattering amplitudes in the classical regime; Multi-loop integrals for gravitational physics.

Résumé:
The main objectives of the “Crystallography and Large Facilities” thematic school are to acquire the theoretical foundations of crystallography, its methods, and the use of software to solve and refine crystal structures. At the Master 2 level, it is aimed at PhD students, post-docs, engineers, researchers, and current or potential users of large-scale facilities (synchrotron or neutron sources) who feel the need to “reconnect” with the fundamentals of crystallography and wish to obtain a state-of-the-art overview of the possibilities offered by different experimental methods. All fields of crystallography are covered. As in previous editions, in the 5-day course, the theoretical aspects will be complemented by tutorials, enabling students to get to grips with applications quickly and to link their training with their research work. The participation of teachers from SOLEIL, LLB and leading laboratories specializing in crystallography (IMPMC in Paris, LPS in Orsay, CRM2 in Nancy) is a guarantee of the quality of the courses.
Sujets:
The 9th edition of École Cristallographie et Grands Équipements (CGE) school will take place at the SOLEIL synchrotron site in Saint-Aubin from November 4th to 8th, 2024.

IIS2024 — 13th ITER International School
09 dec 2024 - 13 dec 2024 • Nagoya, Japon
Organisateur:
National Institute for Fusion Science in Nagoya
Résumé:
The ITER International School (ISS) responds to the need for training in this critical energy context, where fusion research is a cornerstone for the success of a large-scale project and international impact. The IIS has naturally become a global reference in the ITER project. The ITER International School aims to prepare young scientists and engineers for working in the field of nuclear fusion and in research applications associated with the ITER Project. The adoption of a “school format” was a consequence of the need to prepare future scientists and engineers on a range of different subjects and to provide them with a wide overview of the interdisciplinary skills required by the ITER project.
Sujets:
The subject of the 2024 school is "Magnetic fusion diagnostics and data science”. Diagnostics are key to the achievement of ITER fusion power demonstration goals and they require the application of a wide range of techniques. But diagnostics are not enough to ensure ITER’s success, only through advanced analysis of the data they provide will it be possible to guide the experiments towards their fusion power goals. It is timely to address these multidisciplinary areas in the ITER school.

Foundations and Applications of Relativistic Hydrodynamics
14 avr 2025 - 16 mai 2025 • Firenze , Italie
Organisateur:
Galileo Galilei Institute
Résumé:
Relativistic fluid dynamics is a powerful universal effective theory that plays a crucial role in understanding physical systems under extreme conditions of temperature and density. These include the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) created in heavy-ion collisions, matter in the early universe, colliding neutron stars, and black holes in the holographic gauge-string duality. Despite its interdisciplinary applicability and long history, the scope and foundations of relativistic hydrodynamics remain active research areas today. This workshop is dedicated to gather physicists with different expertise, those committed in applying relativistic hydrodynamics to heavy-ion phenomenology and astrophysics, alongside with researchers focusing on the foundational aspects of relativistic hydrodynamics. The aim is to foster a collaborative environment that encourages a synergic and efficient exchange of ideas from complementary realms to accelerate progress on timely problems in relativistic hydrodynamics. The experimental results and phenomenology can guide theoretical advances of relativistic hydrodynamics towards real-world applications.

From Asymtptotic Symmetries to Flat Holography: Theoretical Aspects and Observable Consequences
19 mai 2025 - 20 jui 2025 • Firenze , Italie
Organisateur:
Galileo Galilei Institute
Résumé:
Gravity and gauge theories share a rich infrared physics whose universal features manifest themselves in the context of asymptotic symmetries and their Noether charges. They clarify the soft factorization properties of scattering amplitudes, they play a role in the phenomenology of gravitational waves, and enter in the identification of new observable effects including gravitational and color memories. From the perspective of quantum gravity, they introduce new tools to understand the structure of the Hilbert space, and bring about a novel and promising approach to investigate a holographic principle for asymptotically flat spacetimes, currently pursued along two related lines: celestial and Carrollian holography. The latter exploits the Carroll structure at null infinity while the former takes advantage of powerful toolkit of conformal field theory. The vast majority of these developments have taken place in the last ten years and gave rise to research lines currently undergoing a fast growth. The proposed workshop aims at exploiting this rich and timely topic to bring together experts from all over the world, together with young researchers and students, with the goal to provide training, share results, build common grounds and foster new collaborations.

Résumé:
This workshop aims at catalyzing the joint efforts of particle physicists and cosmologists towards the exploration of new physics with large cosmological datasets. The workshop is structured to encompass three thematic weeks dedicated to model building and testing fundamental physics in cosmology, developing novel theoretical tools to search for new physics in cosmological observables, and discussing the potential of next generation experiments to probe the plethora of new physics signals. A symposium with summary talks will conclude the workshop. A concurrent school is planned, with the aim of addressing the evolving landscape of this new field and helping participants catch up with recent developments and novel tools. An important feature of the workshop is a designated focus week, devoted to the initiation of a much-needed community white paper, summarizing the new and well-motivated particle physics models that can be tested in cosmology in the light of upcoming data and planned future experiments. The workshop nicely aligns with the expected data releases from DESI and Euclid.
