Stochastic dynamics arise naturally in the mathematical analysis of random phenomena in several fields such as physics, biology, economics, and engineering. Besides the numerous applications, the mathematics behind stochastic dynamics is extremely challenging as it lies on the boundary of several fields, such as infinite dimensional analysis, probability, stochastic and functional analysis, PDE theory, and even theoretical physics. The complexity of the topics involved requires naturally the interplay of researchers from different areas of expertise. The aim of the school is to bring together young researchers and PhD students and to give them the possibility of a close interaction with international colleagues and worldwide-recognised scientists. The objective of the courses is to provide insights in the direction of foundations of the theory as well as more subtle applications.

The Krome computational school (at its 6th edition) is designed to provide participants with an integrated foundation in the numerical, theoretical, and modeling approaches used to study star and planet formation. By covering the physical and chemical processes that operate from molecular clouds to mature planetary systems, the program emphasizes how modern computational techniques connect microphysical mechanisms with large-scale structure and evolution. Through lectures that span astrochemical modeling, radiation–thermochemical simulations, dust and gas dynamics, and advanced numerical methods, the school offers a coherent framework for understanding current challenges and frontiers in the field. This structure ensures that participants gain both conceptual grounding and practical experience with state-of-the-art tools, preparing them to contribute effectively to ongoing developments in computational astrophysics.

Doctoral Training Program - Nuclear Theory for New Physics

Résumé:
The combined “standard models" of fundamental interactions and cosmology leave a number of questions about the observed universe without answer. Outstanding puzzles include the origin and nature of neutrino mass, the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe, and the nature of dark matter. Low-energy processes involving neutrinos, hadrons, and nuclei have the potential to shed light directly or indirectly on some of these great mysteries. Given the potentially very high impact of the experimental program of electroweak and Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics with nuclei and the crucial need for the corresponding theory, we propose a DTP focused on ‘nuclear theory for new physics’. Through lectures and problem-solving sessions this DTP will provide nuclear theory students the motivation and context for electroweak and BSM studies with nuclei as well as the basic theoretical and computational tools needed in these studies. This DTP aims to establish a common ground for nuclear theory students in different sub-communities interfacing in the study of electroweak and BSM physics with nuclei: phenomenology and Effective Field Theory, lattice QCD, and nuclear structure. The concepts and tools presented at this DTP will prepare the students to apply cutting edge methodologies to challenging problems in the field and to identify new directions.
