Exploring the energy frontier with muon beams
23 Jun 2025 - 25 Jul 2025 • Firenze , Italy
Organizer:
Galileo Galilei Institute
Abstract:
In this workshop we will explore the opportunities unleashed by progress in muon-based experiments, with particular focus on a multi-TeV muon collider. We will discuss both Standard Model precision physics and the search for new phenomena at the highest possible accelerator energies.
Topics:
Topics to be discussed include: the physics of Standard Model particles at multi-TeV energies, and in particular the phenomenology across the frontier of electroweak symmetry restoration at high energy; searches for new physics at the high-energy frontier; possible uses of muon beams and related technologies for further exploration of fundamental interactions at the high-intensity frontier; synergies with other experiments in flavor, dark matter, neutrino physics, and more

New Physics from Galaxy Clustering at GGI
25 Aug 2025 - 03 Nov 2025 • Firenze , Italy
Organizer:
Galileo Galilei Institute
Abstract:
This workshop aims at catalyzing the joint efforts of particle physicists and cosmologists towards the exploration of new physics with large cosmological datasets. The workshop is structured to encompass three thematic weeks dedicated to model building and testing fundamental physics in cosmology, developing novel theoretical tools to search for new physics in cosmological observables, and discussing the potential of next generation experiments to probe the plethora of new physics signals. A symposium with summary talks will conclude the workshop. A concurrent school is planned, with the aim of addressing the evolving landscape of this new field and helping participants catch up with recent developments and novel tools. An important feature of the workshop is a designated focus week, devoted to the initiation of a much-needed community white paper, summarizing the new and well-motivated particle physics models that can be tested in cosmology in the light of upcoming data and planned future experiments. The workshop nicely aligns with the expected data releases from DESI and Euclid.

AFun25 — International Summer School on Advanced Functional nanomaterials
29 Sep 2025 - 01 Oct 2025 • Palermo, Italy
Organizer:
University of Palermo, Italy, University of Brasilia (Brazil), Sao Paulo state University (Brasil)
Abstract:
Nanomaterial science explores the unique properties and applications of materials at the nanoscale, where quantum and surface effects drive innovative advancements in technology, engineering and medicine. The AFuN25 summer School, open to master students, PhD students, postdocs and early researchers working in the field, will cover several emerging trends and hot sub-fields in nanomaterials, ranging from optical nanomaterials, plasmonic nanomaterials, nanomaterials for biomedical applications, porous nanomaterials, nanomaterials for photocatalysis, and more. The small size of the School will favor close interactions among participants, providing a perfect context for students to learn from experienced researchers about the latest trends in fundamental and applied nanomaterial science.

The School is highly interdisciplinary, and open to physicists, chemists, engineers and material scientists, bridging knowledge between students and researchers from several institutions around the world, and providing specialized training into several key topics. The lectures will focus on representative examples of state-of-the-art research on different types of nano-systems for functional applications in different techonologies.
